County Head
Paul Breilhaupt is to head the
Klamalh County division of the
I960 United Fund-Red Cross Drive.
Paul Cruikshank, drive chairman,
in announcing this chairmanship,
said "we're real pleased to have
this other Paul working for us.
He has such a broad acquain
tanceship in the county as well
as a lot of organizational expe-
. rience."
Paul Breilhaupt came to Klam
ath County in 1929 when he was
a freshman in high school. He at
tended Merrill High School for two
years and was graduated from Bo
' nanza High School.
He farmed with his father un-
' til the time of his father's death
in 1041,. at which time he and
his brothers formed a farming
partnership. Later Breilhaupt
bought out . the two partners and
continued farming alone until 1957.
Then he sold his ranch and be
, came active in a transportation
' business. In February this year,
he became affiliated with Basin
Farm Chemicals, where he is
manager.
In 1942 Breilhaupt was married
, to the former Marilyn Rightmier
and they are the parents of four
; children, two boys and two girls,
- ranging in age from 5 to IB. The
Breithaupt children are active in
4-H work and attend Henley
schools. The family is moving tb
- a new home in the Henley Dis
trict. . ; ' '
'" Breithaupt is a longtime lead
er in Klamath County agricultur
al groups, having taken part in the
work of the farm bureau and the
grange. He served in a, similar
county capacity with a Commu
nity Chest drive before United
. Fund was established, the coun
' ty chairman has one of the most
extensive volunteer jobs in ' the
campaign. It includes a general
solicitation of all Klamath County
citizens living outside the immed
iate Klamath Falls area.
The county drive effort includes
a special gifts appeal,, a general
: geographic solicitation that divides
the county into 12 areas, and a
.special approach to county busi
nesses by a payroll withholding
r group. The task of the latter is
;to establish a withholding plan for
employes in every large firm in
"the county.'
