Sobol) , Wild Stowaway Survives Trip In Hot Cargo Hold NEW YORK (UPD Police and immigration officials searched to day for a wild-eyed man who burst from the steaming hold of a tropical freighter and fled the memory of a stowaway compan ion who had died of thirst. The fearful sea tale, was uncov ered by a crew of tough long shoremen who fell back in horror at the filthy apparition which scrabbled from the hatch they had just opened and addressed them in a raving whisper. He snatched a roll from the hand of a dockman and wolfrti it down. The longshoremen silently pointed the direction he asked and watched him head for water and freedom. None moved to stop him. He looked like a maniac, one said. Seven hours later, late Tuesday afternoon, the crew found the other half of the story the naked body of a man, his gaunt hand still clutching his parched throat wedged in the cargo at the bot tom of the hold. The ship was the Cordoba, five days out of Havana, with a reek ing cargo of tobacco in the hold where temperatures had risen to IIS degrees during the voyage. Gaarenstroom, Centennial fiscal officer.' Based in the attendance trends of the last four weeks and the advance ticket sales of the com ing arena attractions, the com missions chances of breaking even over the long haul will be very difficult unless there is an increase in paid gale attendance," he said. Former Student Visits Parents Edgar Frank Skelton visited at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Skelton, Klamath Falls, last weekend before mov ing his family to Ontario where he will be manager of the On tario Office Outfitters. Skelton graduated in the 1959 class of Oregon Technical Insti-i line and was, according to instruc tor John Feimer. top man in the large class. Skelton succeeds Charies Tykeson, another OTI graduate. Edgar Skelton was a casualty of the Korean war and attended OTI under the Veteran's Admin istration rehabilitation program He is married and has two young children. Skelton's wife is the for mer Marilyn Fanning, daughter of Mrs. C. J. Bradbury, Klamath Falls. Heated Judge Cooled Off i OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) r- A municipal judge who complained lhat 95 or 96 degree heat "affects my disposition" won quick relief. The Alameda County Board of Supervisors agreed Tuesday to rent a cooling system for $115 and investigate the feasibility of in stalling a system throughout the courthouse. "A judge shouldn't be exposed to this," Judge Edward A. Quar esma pleaded.
