Picnic all parish members of the McCloud Catholic Church are invited to attend a picnic to be held in the McCloud High School ball park at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 26. There will be an hourly award of prizes. Shower Bly Grange is spon furing a community shower for Ihe Marvin Ward family whose home was burned recently. The shower will be at the Bly Grange Hall Friilay, July 24, at 8 p.m. Groceries and new or used ar ticles of clothing and household Items are needed. Girls' clothing sizes are 4, 8, 14, 16 and 10, boy's size 12. Mrs. Ward wears size 16, and Ward, size lS'-j shirt and size 32 pants. Permanent Move M. M. Stephen, with his son Ralph, moved from Lakeview to New Pine Creek last weekend to make his permanent home. He has lived in and around Lakeview since 1918. . Wyoming The annual Wyo ming picnic will be Sunday, July 26, at 1 p.m. at Avery Park, Cor vallis, Oregon. Ice cream and cof fee will be served. There will be a; registration fee of 50 cents per family. Recent Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dick and the Charlie Vincents at New Pine Creek were Mr. and Mrs. R. Coleman from Yuba City. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Turner from Oakland, have also been recent visitors at the Vin cent home. Worship Service The Rev. Harold Foster, Weed Presbyterian Church, recently presented a film strip showing of "Migrant Work" at the evening worship service in the McCloud Community Presby terian Church. David Kite led the service and was aided by mem bers of the Westminster High School Fellowship. He it ihe son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry O. White, 3541 Cor fez Street. He wet gradu ated in June from Klamath Union High School. White will receive recruit training at San Diego. Classes Set July 27 MERRILL Vacation Church School will he held at the Mer rill Presbyterian Church beginning Monday, July 27 and ending Fri day, August 7. Classes will be held Monday through Friday from 9 until 11:30 a.m. All young peo ple from nursery age of 3 years through the freshmen class in high school are invited to attend The theme of this year's vaca tion church school is "Following lesus." Classes will include Bible and missionary stories, devotional talks, music, worship, games. crafts and refreshments. Registration will be held prior to Sunday school on Sunday, July 26 and before classes on Monday morning. Director is Mrs. William 0. Kurtz. Assisting in the nursery department will be Shirley Moore, Marjorie Newnham and Marga ret Quails. Helping with the kin-: dcrgarten department will be Don na Conner, Sherry Keck, Diane Walker and Delia Winthcr. Primary department teachers are Vivian Cunningham, Mary Haskins, Carol Merriless and Lu cille West with Leona Beasly. Doris Fothoringham . and Dorothy Kandra working with the junior department. Teachers of the jun ior and junior high combined groups will be Doris Graves, Lloyd Henderson, Eugene Newn ham, Ellna Ochs and Lillian Thomas. The music and program com mittee consists of Wilma Burleigh, Georgia Moore and Kathy Moore. Church school secretaries are Beverly Moore, Margaret Moore and Diane West. Refreshment services are planned by Cornelia Icenbico, Mary Lou Swisher, Win- nifrcd Taylor and Maggie Wilson. The annual VCS program will be held Friday evening, August 7. Friends and relatives are in vited to attend. Local Pastor Attends Meet A Klamath Falls minister, the Rev. M. A. McKinnie of the Con gregational Church, is attending by scholarship, the session of the Western Pastors' School of the United Church of Christ on the former Taylor Estate at La Foret Colorado. He joins 52 other pastors from 21) states, including Hawaii, for one month, during which time they will study in the fields of theology, Bible, worship, religious education. homiletics and pastoral theology. The 26 members of the faculty represent three seminaries; Pa cific School of Religion, Berkeley; Kden Seminary, Webster Groves, .Missouri and the Andover Newton Theological School, Newton Cen ter, Massachusetts. Besides the lectures, reading. worship, recreation and fellow ship periods, time is taken once a week to visit off-campus sites of interest, including Colorado Springs, the Garden of the Gods, the Air Force Academy, Will Rog ers Memorial and Pikes Peak, ine scnoot concludes with a votive candle service on August 2, ai banquet August 3 and final communion August 4. At this time a similar, school is in session at Deering Com munity Center, Hillsboro, New Hampshire. Over the years more than 1.500 men have taken part in these two organizations. Garbage Men Back On Job NORWICK. Conn. (AP) The city's garbage men and street cleaners are back at work after i three-week strike. While they were gone, the streets filled with debris a lot of it left over from the city's 300th birthday celebration. And residents had to haul their own garbage to the city dump. Because the residents didn't plow the garbage under, the dump was classified a public health menace last week. Supervisory employes cleaned it up. The workers are members of the United Mine Workers union. Seventy-eight municipal employes were involved.
