Ore. - j C - VISITING in this city is Wesley Stough, a native of Klamath Falls, and his wife, Josephine, from their home in San Diego. They are guests of his mother, Mrs. Ed Stough, and his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Stough. A chief electrician mate, Wesley Stough is re tiring after 2 1 years with the Navy. He will enter some branch of civil service work and continue to reside in San Diego. Photo by Navy Exchange Studio, San Diego Etna Rebekahs ETNA Irene Weston, vice president, presided at the regular meeting of Aureola Rebckah Lodge No. 113 July 9 when Juanita Evans, district deputy president of District No. 29 and ot Ora Rebckah Lodge No. 40 in Fort Jones made her official visit. The district deputy president was introduced by Aureola Rehekah Lodge conductor, Virginia Roberts. Other visitors present were At lanta Adams of Atlanta Rebekah Lodge No. 373, Weed, and Grace Mason, vice grand of Ora Rebckah Lodge No. 40, Fort Jones. A letter was read regarding a barbecue dinner sponsored b y Yrcka Lodge No. 19 of the Inde pendent Order of Odd Fellows on July 25 at the Pythian Caves. A monetary gift was presented the visitor by a committee com - prised of Augusta Rotan, Doris Jackson, Mary Franklin, Virginia Roberts, May Aker, Leatha Pal- mer, Minnie Solari and Claire M. Potter. Audrey Wolford was musi cian. The committee in charce nf the next lodge meeting will be Mav AKer, Dons Young, Audrey Wol ford and Laura Grossen. Refreshments were served in the banquet hall bv Aueusla Rotan Irene Weston, Frances Smith and Ada Jordan. ATTENDS WORKSHOP Mrs. Kathryn Edwards, a Ma liu teacher, was among those at tending a workshop on the Bishop Method of clothing construction held July 13-17 at Texas Wom an's University. Mrs. Edna Bryle Bishop, orig inalor of the nationally known method of rapid clothing construe tion, taught the workshop with assistance from faculty members of the TWU college of household arts and sciences. The 150 women assembled for the workshop made it one of the largest of its kind in the nation. 4i MRS. GENE HAMMOND, center, a resident of Merrill for 53 years was honored recently at a farewell reception prior to her departure for Yrelta where she will make her home. Assisting' the guests in signing the guest book were Mrs. Dan Cashman and Mrs. John Giaco mini, Mrs. Clyde Fox. Mrs. Dan Barry and Mrs. Jerry Ahern as sisted about the room. MERRILL A farewell tea re ception honoring Mrs. Gene Mary) Hammond was held recent ly at St. Augustine's parish hall. Mrs. Hammond, who has resided at the family home in Merrill for the past 53 years, recently pur chased a home in Yreka where she is now living. Her only son, William and family, reside in near by Grenada. Invitations were extended to ap proximately 50 longtime friends and neighbors. Mrs. Hammond wore a white or chid corsage, a gift from Mrs. Mamie Giaqomini, a lifelong friend and neighbor. The guest of honor was also presented a money tree The refreshment table, covered by a gray lace tablecloth, was centered by an arrangement of pink and lavender carnations and spider chrysanthemums flanked on either side by crystal candlehold- ers holding tall, white tapers.
