Castle said that the Dr.innseri structure long needed by the company lor xtnring vehicles and equipment was one of several nrniects Drovided in Reaver ;i3io'c $;(I8.(K10 construction budget for this year. Another job called for in the lMSa budget will result in general cahle relief throughout the city of Lake view, according to Castle. This undertaking, started about 10 days ago, .will require an expenditure cf $16,250 and 1,110 man-hours. The new facilities will enable Bea ver State to fill orders for new and regraded service in the city. Castle announced the eompletion of still another project in the 1959 construction package installation of circuits to the Federal Aero nautics Administration's omni -Mnge station on Round Mountain about 40 miles northwest of Lake view. This was a joint undertak ing of Beaver Stale and Pacific Telephone ' and Telegraph Com pany, and the new additions are primarily in the nature of con trol circuits whose purpose is to facilitate the station's role as a navigational aid to aircraft. West Coast's expenditures on the project amounted to $18,379 and l.nso man-hours. Castle said the circuits from Round Mountain through to the new FAA network junction at Klamath Falls recently bad been tested successfully. ' Longtime Klamath Resident Takes Position In Phoenix A resident of Klamath Falls or the last 2 years. Victor I. (Vic ' Douglas, has announced he has taken a new position in Phoenix. Arizona, and he and Mrs. Douglas will leave here on July 2fi. Douglas was born in Colorado HELLISH GREETING BAYTOW.M, Tex. Upon leaving the Kerns organiza tion he joined Fred Barnett Com pany, selling farm machinery, from which post he is resigning now. Douglas has called dances all over the Klamath Ba sin and their three children claim they have been going to square dances since before they could walk. He has also been prominent in rodeo activities in the Ra.-m. He is a charier member of Klamaih Air Search and Rescue Unit and served as president for two years. He organized aod is the leader of the Klamath County Mob ilized Disaster Unit. In addition, he is a past governor of Moose Lodge here and a member of the Subur ban Fire Department. He started as a special Klamath County deputy sheriff under Sher iff Lloyd Low and has carried a badge for more than 20 years. He played first baseman while Otto Kllis, Herald and News pho tographer, was second baseman on the Merrill baseball team in the early 1930s. In Phoenix he will he super intendent for Water Engineering Company which covers Arizona, ew Mexico, Texas and Nevada.
