Trad ing was heavy. The ticker tape was late. Volume for the day was esti mated at about the same as Mon day's 3,000,000 shares. Gains of key stocks went from fractions to about a point and los ers moved in the same range. A tew secondary issues posted big gains, most of them respond ing to trading interest based on favorable interpretations of their price chart patterns. Motorola gained more than 5, Cutler-Hammer more than 3, Out board Marine more than 2 and American Machine It Foundary about 2. U.S. Rubber. Caterpillar and Wostjnghouse Electric also were ahead about 2 apiece. Losses of around a point were taken by Kennecott, Allied Chem cal, United Aircraft and Good year. Slightly lower were Texaco, New York Central, Boeing, Re public Steel, American Smelting. U.S. Gypsum and International Nickel. U.S. Steel, Bethlehem, General Motors, Anaconda and American Telephone were not better than ateady. U.S. government bonds drilled lightly lower.
