PACK 7 A I - jr - .. rt rm1 Chief Signs Lease Bi I WASHINGTON lAP) - Presi dent Eisenhower has signed a bill permitting stale and county agen cies to lease O&C and Coos Bay Wagon Road Grant lands in Ore gon for recreational use. Under the law, the Secretary of Interior may grant 20-year leases with renewal privileges to tne state and its political subdi visions. Another bill signed by the Pres ident adds 32ft acres of acquired land to the O&C acreage. The land was deeded to the govern ment by the E. K. Wood Lumber Co. in partial settlement of claim for timber damage in 1931 forest fire. NORMAN MOTY, vice president of th. AP Twelve year old James Arnold s heart stopped Tuesday while a physician was sewing up his foot, cut in a lawn mower accident. Dr. T. E. Wade opened the boy's chest and massaged the heart for 90 minutes until its ac tion was restored. It failed to save James' life, however. He died Wednesday afternoon. The boy was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Orbin Arnold who live near Tyrone, Okla. Dr. Wade said heart ailment caused the boy's col lapse while he was being treated Trouble Said No Stranger To Man Held For Killing YAKIMA, Wash. 'AP Trouble Is no stranger to John Bernard Doyle, who fled a mental hospital on his 22nd birthday and is now charged with the slaying of a man be didn't know. Doyle was bound over Wednes day to V. S. District Court for Eastern Washington. He was ar rested Tuesday night near Cle Elum in the parked car of Vivian Meagher, 56, Seattle. Earlier that day, Meagher's body was found on the Yakima Indian Reservation about 45 miles southwest of Yakima. He had been shot twice. i Doyle fled Northern Slate Hos-j pital in Sedro Woollcy June 9. He broke away and outran attendants who were escorting him from the maximum security ward to' anoth er building. Dr. Charles H. Jones, Northern Slate Hospital superintendent, said Wednesdly psychiatrists there did not consider Doyle violent or dan gerous. AI -I Governor Mark Hatlield was un- able to attend the Governors Day Parade by the Oregon National Guard at Camp Rilea Wednesday.
