Judilh Bruner, final 20-40 Livestock Judging Tour was held recently at the Darvin Robnette and Bill Hoffman ranch es on the Easlside. The tour cov- ered hogs and dairy, with Dr. Vic Hill conducting the hog classes and Herb Pollard handling the dairy. In the hog judging, members judged i class of gilts and a class of fat hogs. Sandra Wolf was first with 190 9 out of a possible 200 points. Joanne Leahy, with ins 2, was second and Lynn Abramson and Virgie Packet tied for third with 184 8. Fourth went to George Brown with 178 R and Nancy Max well was fifth wilh IK2.9. Top dairy judge was Larry Tra cy with 191.2. In the dairy judg ing, members were confronted with a class of Holsteins and a class of Guernseys. Virgie Padget was second with IRS 3 and Terry Hill third with 170 6. George Brown with ISO. 8 came in fourth and Lynn Abramson fifth with 1529. Top five judges for the tour were as follows: First, Virgie Padget S70.1; second, Larry Tracy 342.7; third Lynn Abramson 337.7; fourth, George Brown 3.T7 6; fifth. Cinda Weir 302. Don Hill. FFA cored 184 8 on the hogs and 170 6 on the dairy, for a tour score of 355.4. The 20-40 Farmers sponsor the tours to instruct 4 H and FFA members in livestock judging and to give them actual judging ex perience. From the results of the tours, the county judging team is picked. Assisting with the tours were 20 40 members Ben Vernon, Vic Hill, Frosty Abramson, Don Hotchkiss, Bob Weir. Herb Pollard and Dar vin Robnette. Burt Chambers, Bill Hoffman, Darvin Robnette and Don . Hotchkiss furnish stock for the classes. LAKEVIEW Forty Lake Coun ty youngsters will be among the 600 boys and 1.300 girls attending 4-H Summer School beginning June 20 at Corvallis. While most of them travel In buses or cars, Jackson, Douglas nd Curry County delegates are coming In six covered wagons. The wagon train left Jacksonville June S and will have traveled 225 miles In 13 days on arrival at OSC. Highlight of this year's summer school will be a Centennial pageant Friday night, June 26. at the OSC coliseum. Nearly 430 boys and girls have parts in the two-hour pro " gram. Jessalee Mallalieu.
