OREGON MONDAY, JUNE 8. 1359 Basket-Like Contrivance Assists Chicago Firemen CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago J irt Department is using a weird, wonderful contrivance that hat ttirred up interest across the country. The oth er two are bigger. No. 2. with a 7S-foot boom, can reach eight stories. No. 3, with a 65 foot boom, can reach seven stories The larger ones cost (25.000 each They just lift the basket up, take on a load and then lower it like the bucket on a scoop shovel.
