Girl Crowned Orchid Of Ball A Klamath Falls girl, Susan O'Hair, was named Orchid of Sig ma Phi at the annual Orchid Ball in Wagner's Garden Room, Cor vallis. May 23. Susan, 20, a sophomore at Ore gon State College where she is a member of Chi Omega and house manager, majoring in foods and nutrition in the School of Home Economics, is the daughter of Keith O Hair. She was crowned by the 1958 Orchid of Sigma Phi, Sharon Rose. Susan was selected from a court of five contestants, including Bar bara Books, Carolyn Brown, Judy Wilson and Ann Minkler. Susan plans to be employed dur ing the summer vacation at Girl Scout Camp Wind Mountain near Stevenson, Washiniton, Portland Division as a Girl Seoul counselor. Michael O'Hair, brother, is a freshman at OSC. He will spend the summer in Klamath Falls. The charge against Darwin C. Green. 24, 911 North Ninth Street, was filed by D. L. Baker, an in vestigator for the State Unemploy ment Compensation Commission in Salem. ' Green specifically was charged Kith obtaining the check for the week ending May 31, 1938. The commission maintains that Green was working and made $81 that week. Green was jailed in Eugene but as released Friday on $1,000 bond posted in district court here. STOKOWSKI ARRIVES BERLIN (UPI) Conductor Leopold Stokowski arrived in Leipzig. East Germany. Thurs day to conduct the Leipzig Ge- andhaus Orchestra Sunday and Monday, the East German news agency ADN reported. Stokowski came from Warsaw, ADN said.
