They will speak at commencement exercises June 2. She participated in recent Elks Lodge panel discussions and in the recent Counly Speech Festival. Thomas has played football, bas ketball and track and will oar icipale in the Shrine High School All Star football game next fall at Pendleton. He is a member of the school hand, and was editor of the Bonanza section of the three-school annual. "Tri-Hich" Ihis year. He participated in the Elks panel discussions. The 14 members of the class planned to visit Oregon Caves dur ing their annual "skip day" Fri day. The gradual ing class nf Bonan 13 High School will have two salu tatorian; this year and no val edictorian. They are Irene Strunk. daughter il Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Strunk. and Thomas Ellis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Ellis, both members of the Bonanza High School facul ty. All are of Bonanza. The seniors both will speak at graduation ex ercises June 2 at 8 p.m. in Bo nanza Elementary, School gymna sium. Dr.' Alvin Fellers, professor at Southern Oregon College, will deliver the major address al com mencement. The Rev. Richard Slewart of Lorella Full Gospel Church will speak at Baccalaureate in the church Sunday, May 31, at S p.m. Both students received 2.1 grade point averages during their four years in high school. Both want to attend college, hut are undecided whether they will. Irene is this years student body president. She has been active in ROBERT G. LYMAN Distribution Of Beer Set Western Beverage Company. Thompson, sales mana ger for Calling's Pacific North west region. Headquarters for Carling are at Tacoma. General Manager Robert G. Lvman will conlimie as distribu tor of Heidelberg beer which is brewed by Carling. In the beer industry for the last 10 years. Lyman was first asso ciated with Heidelberg in 1955. H'PII The New Jersey Assembly admitted Monday night that al least half of the platforms of the political par tics are "nonsense." The assembly voted 40-0 to limit state party conventions to one ev ery two years and thus "eliminate the nonsense platforms" written in silversmith's wife dashed off to Gretna Green in pursuit of her l! year-old son and the lamily s pretty Swiss maid. Dowsett ran his daughter and Langley to earth at a friend's tiny lpartment over a stable in Cam bridge. Because the family forbade the under-age girl to marry, she ran off to Scotland wilh Langley and refused to come home with her father when he followed them Dowsett got a high court order prohibiting the marriage. It was doubtful it could he enforced in Scotland, where teen-agers can marry without parental consent. But Langley would have been suit ed to arrest If he flouted the order and then returned to Eng land. The rouple drove 320 miles from Edinburgh and arrived ex hausted and penniless in Cam bridge. A posse of newsmen and private detectives hired by Dow sett soon traced them. The father arrived and ham mered on the orange-painied door, shouting. "Katherine, let me in. It's your father." "Are vou going to he nice. Daddy?" Katherine cried tearlul ly from the other side of the locked door. "Of course, my dear." Dowsett replied softly. "Let me in and let's sort this thing out."
