Bonanza Girls Honor Mothers BONANZA The annual "Moth rs Tea" was given in the library room by the Bonanza girls Friday arternoon, May 8. Marilyn Math ews, home economics teacher su pervised the tea. The room was decorated wilh pear blossoms and daffodils. Mothers and guests were present ed with carnation corsages with sugar cubes tied to them. The decorating theme was "Sugar and Spice for Someone Nice." Claudette Pheiffer announced the program, which was opened with poetry by Joan Fernlund. followed hy a style show by the 10, 11, and 12 grades featuring capri pants, pedal pushers, blouses and dress es made this school term. Margaret Thomas read appropriate poetry. The eighth grade girls modeled pa jamas, gathered skirts and beach towels with original paintings com pleted this year. Marilyn Mathews presented Vel ma Terpening with the "Silver Thimble" award given to the out standing homemaking girl given by the DAR of Klamath Falls. SURPRISE PARTY Ellen Shunn was presented a beautiful bedspread by members of the drill team of the Eagles Lodge at a surprise party on April 30. Those present included Lillian Carr. Ha?el Dungan, Nellie DeWitt, Becky Campbell, Ree Stevens. Mil dred Burris. Lora Jarrard. Tillie Kurth. Thelma Walters and the honored guest. NAOMI SHRINE Nanmi Shrine No. S of the White Shrine of Jerusalem held a regular meeting at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, in the Masonic Temple. Ruth Rodenberger, wortny nign priestess, and Elvin Phillips, watchman of shepherds, presided in the East and conducted the meeting with their corps of officers. A group of past officers. Jim Hunter, Dale Howell and George Retterath, past watchman of shep herds: Helen McCornack and Nell RoHprafh nast wnrlhv high nriest- esscs were all introduced, escorted and welcomed in the bast. WHP Ruth Rodenberger had just returned by plane trom the supreme session held in Min neaoolis. Minnesota, during the week of May 4 through the 7th, and gave a full account of her ex periences of the trip and nctaus of the session. Rouss M. Thomas of Durham, North Carolina, was installed as the new supreme wor thy high priestess ana win mane her official visit to Naomi Shrine rtn Auttnit 21. A snecial meeting and ceremonial will be held for the occasion. Each Shrine in the Unit ed States is visited by a supreme worthy high priestess only once every four years. Their engagement was announced this week by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Prescott of Malin. The cere mony will be performed June 13 at St. Mary's Cath olic Church in Corvallis. After the meeting members en joyed a social hour in the dining room with refreshments being served from tables decorated in the Chinese theme, with fans, fig urines and butterflies arranged with spring flowers.
