' Program Slated On Landscaping ;J A recording on "Landscape De sign," taped by Mrs. Hugh O'Con nor, state landscape chairman of ihe Oregon Federation of Garden Clubs, assisted by her daughter, Pati O'Connor, Eugene, will be peard from 9:10 to 9:40 a.m. Sat urday, April 25, over station KFJI. The recording, a skit, is in ob servance of National Garden Week and Arbor Dy, observed in the IJmted Mates at varying times dur ing April and May, depending on climate. John Palfrey, general secretary of the Motor Schools Association, protested to a trade conference today that there is at least one licensed teacher of automobile driving who has lost his own driv er s license for drunken driving. Report Given On Radiation WASHINGTON AP .A. com mittee of radiation experts says it believes the human body can safelv tolerate twice the amount of radioactive strontium previous ly thought permissible. ' The report came Wednesday from the National Committee on Radiation Protection and Meas urement, a group of experts in the fold. The committee has no official status, but its recommendations have been followed by the Atomic Energy Commission and the U.S. Public Health Service. The new report raised the rec ommended permissible values for some radioactive materials, less ened values tor others and left some unchanged. A big reduction was recommend ed for cesium-137, the second most feared product of nuclear fallout. It was made clear that the new recommendations will in no way change the maximum permissible dose of radiation from all sources which the committee recommend ed in 1957. The committee recommenda tions would mean a 20 per cent upward revision in the amount of strontium deemed permissible in milk. Mother Is Boss, Caller Discovers LAFAYETTE, Ind.
