Sibbet, pas tor of the First Presbyterian Church of Bishop, California, re ceived a unanimous call to the pas torate of Peace Memorial Presby terian Church of Klamath Falls, at meeting of the congregation held on ounaay, April 5. The Rev. Sibbet is a graduate oi ueorge Washington University, wnere ne was enrolled m a pro medical course. He also graduated from the University of California of Los Angeles, then entered San Francisco Theological Seminary of San Ansclmo, California. Upon fin ishing his schooling, he was pas tor of a rural church in Two Rock, California, and taught part-time in the seminary. He then received a call to the First Presbyterian Church of Bishop, where he has Seen for the past 10 years. The Sibbet family include the Rev. Sibbet, his wife Dorothy, and ineir tour sons, David, 14, Jim, 13, John, 11, and Gordon, . 9. They have a number of hobbies which they enjoy as a family, including Hunting, iisning, music, photogra phy, and wood-working. Rev. and Mrs. Sibbet have been active m community affairs while in Bishop. 1 They have purchased a home at 2070 Etna Street, and will arrive in Klamath Falls following t h e close of the school year. The Rev. 'Sibbet will- be taking up the active pastorate of the church July 15. Ski School Jamboree Set Approximately 'two doien skiers. members of the Sitzmark Ski Club at Crater Lake National Park, will present their ski school jamboree on ski hill In the park next Sun day, according to Slim Mabery. instructor. The contestants will be divided into three groups: beginners, nov ices and the intermediate class. Events will emphasize control rath er than speed, Mabery said. There will be proficiency test runs for each of the three classes followed by races for each class. A rescue demonstration will be put on by Judy Holmes, Kenny Mabery, Judy Fulton, Steve Tru love and Jay Bowdler. If time permits, the fourth and fifth class groups will do some exhibition free style skiing on the upper hill for the visitors. The events will start at 10 a.m. on Sunday and will be followed by luncheon at noon for the contes tants, their families. Luncheon will be a potluck and all interested persons are invited. At noon in the recreation hall. awards, medals, trophies and pro ficiency certificates will be pre sented. Judges for the events will be Bruce Black, John Bowdler and Juanita Mabery. Course setter will be Mabery. Bowdler will be starter and timer and Mrs. Mabery will be recorder. Black will be finish gate supervi sor and Tommy Broadbent will be forerunner. Local Tavern Hit By Thieves Henry MIynzac, a janitor, said thieves broke into the Sunset Tav ern at 137 East Main Street, where he works, sometime Friday night or saturaay morning. MIynzac told Klamath Falls do- lice officers a panel in a rear door to the tavern was cut out, probably Dy a Knue. He reported bills worth $20 and some silver currency missing. MIynzac believed some beer was missing, but could not determine the amount. CITY BRIEFS Barbershoppert will sing at the Pelican Theater, Saturday night. April 18. Girl Scouts A South Municipal Neighborhood meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, in the county library, Third Street and Klamath Avenue. All leaders are urged to be present. Meeting The Klamath County Democratic Club will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. for its regular month ly meeting, according to county chairman Jim Kaler. They were called to a vacant lot at 5437 Altamont Drive early Friday afternoon to put out a small fire of undetermined origin near railroad tracks. They put out another Saturday morning on property occupied by Cecil Corkery at 5548 South Sixth Street. Firemen said Corkery was burning grass on a lot when his lire escaped control.
