Dr, Bryn-Jones is a Welshman V V, - . DR. DAVID BRYN-JONES and a graduate of the University of Wales. Later he came to America and taught economics and political science at Carleton Col lege in Minnesota where he spe cialized in world politics. In 1952 he went to Tokyo, Japan, where he was professor of political set ence and international relations at the International Christian Univer city. (AP) -Three lost skiers who huddled In a snow cave, slapping each other to keep warm and singing to keep up spirits, survived a frigid night high on Mt. Rainier. Ulla Samvik, 31. Bo Ryfelt, 35. and Einer Storakers, 30, all of Seattle, had worked their way down to the 6,500-foot level before they were found Monday after noon. They were hungry . but un- nurt. Storakers, member of a moun tain rescue team at Jamtlanrt Fjall, Sweden, bejore coming to the United Slates two years ago, was credited with devising the survival sneiter. "We think . his experience Is what saved our lives." said Miss Samvik. "He showed us how to dig a cave with our skis in the 1 snow, where we crawled in and tpent the night." All who are interested in hear ing Dr. Bryn-Jones speak on the church's role in international rela tions, are urged to attend. The meeting at the First Presbyterian Church will be in the dining room Dessert will be served at the close of the meeting. A babysitter will be in the nursery. Steel Industry Requested To Freeze Prices For Term NEW YORK (APl-The United Steelworkers of American have proposed to the steel industry that it freeze its prices for the term of the next contract with Ihe union to help "economic sta bility." Even If the industry a creed to do so, the union says it would insist on higher wages and other benefits for its half-million mem bers. Industry spokesmen had no Im mediate formal reply to the un ion's proposal, made Monday night in a letter to 12 big steel- producing companies. Prompt rejection of the union's suggestion was expected. The un ion last week turned down an in dustry proposal that wages and other contract benefits be frozen for a one-year contract period. U.S. Steel, the industry's lead ing producer, declined rnmmont A U.S. Stool spokesman said the company was wailing to see the text ot the union proposal. ' The union's price freeze pro posal was drawn up by the execu tive board after it affirmed Presi dent David J. McDonald's rejec tion of the industry's proposal that present contract benefits terms be continued for another year. The union executive board also suggested that negotiations for a new contract begin May 4, instead of May 18 as now scheduled.
