S. Bureau of Reclamation. The government lease empires on that date. Location of such a camp at Newell was proposed by Earl Ager of Tule lake, Siskiyou County supervisor, when officials of the four counties sought a location for a camp for boys from 15 to 18 who need guidance after first delinquencies. The camp Includes a superintendent's residence, duplex accommoda tions, large dining hall, kitchen with much of the equipment intact, 2,000 mettresses, 600 steel cots, bales of wool blankets, walk-in refrigeration facilities for meat, fruits and vegetables, electric power, sewer and water systems, fire fighting equipment, plenty of room for recreation fa cilities and oilier appurtenances favorable to easy conver sion to immediate use. Following withdrawal of Army units at the close of World War II, the area was taken over by the Bureau of Prisons and has been kept in repair in an ticipation of future need during the present unsettled world conditions. Cost of rehabilitation of the camp would be far less, county authorities say than the building of a new camp at some other location.
