Pine Creek. Kispert is a highway
supervisor of the Long Valley divi
sion of Stale Highway 39.1 which
is one of the highest divisions in
the slate.

Gospel Missions President
Confers With Basin Chief
James Walbrink, president of the
International Union of Gospel Mis
sions of the Pacific Northwest Dis
trict, was present in Klamath Falls
this week, in conference with John
Pedersen, superintendent of the
Klamath Falls Gospel Mission, on
plans for observance of the first
anniversary of the mission here.
Date for the annual banquet and
dinner meeting is March 13 at
6:30 p.m. Place of the dinner is
to be announced.
Walbrink will return for the ban
quet as speaker on "Skid Row to
President of the International Un
ion." Plans are being made for a bad
ly needed dormitory addition to
provide beds for those who spend
a few nights at the mission. One
night this week 50 men came for
shelter and present bed facilities
cannot accommodate that num
ber. The building fund has a total
cash outlay of $."20 and $10,000
will be required for the proposed
addition. Anyone wishing to donate
may do so by contacting the mis
sion.
In a review of services to un
fortunate men dating from last
March when the mission was
owned to January 30. 1958. Peder
sen states that the following fig
ures have been compiled: 26.414
meals, shelter for 10.206, articles
of clothing distributed total 5,607.
shaves and showers, 2.975, hair
cuts, 358, 201 men have been treat
ed for body lice extermination and
334 men have gone to the altar for
spiritual counseling.
The mission work is maintained
entirely on a voluntary basis, and
in reviewing the past year, Su
perintendent Pedersen states (hat
"the response has been be
yond all expectation." He highly
commended Klamath Falls city of
ficials, businessmen, the churches,
numerous organizations and the
hundreds of other residents who
have helped to make success of
the mission work possible.

While there are several social
functions during the year for vari
ous groups in the church, the valf
entine banquet is one of the two
all-church social activities, when
everyone in the church has the
opportunity to take part. Due to
the increasing attendance each
year, it has become necessary for
the banquet to be held outside the
church, because of limited spar.
