Yreka, recently. From San Francisco Tom Beers returned recently from San Fran cisco and is staying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pankcy in Callahan until his job with the forest service begins. To Klamath Falls Mrs. Maud Short of Etna has been in Klam ath Falls visiting relatives. Visitors Mr. and Mrs. John Cawlcy. Mrs. Grace Spannus and Mrs. Gladys Washington of Yreka were recent visitors at the home of Mrs. Louisa Young near Etna Mr. and Mrs. Al Journey ol Etna visited recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bud Smith and lam ily in Vreka. From Klamalh Falls Recent guests of Lonn M. Streeter at his Wood River ranch, northeast of Fort Klamath, were Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Reeder. Klamath Falls. Streeter and Reeder worked together many years ago when they were young men. Streeter is pioneer of over 50 years' resi dence in the Wood River Valley Recuperating Edwin Scott of Fort Klamath was released last week from Klamath Valley Hos pital following minor surgery and is recuperating at his home at the Patrick McAuliffe ranch north of Fort Klamath. Scott is em ployed locally by Puckett and Schercr in their cattle ranching operations. From Lakevicw Mrs. JoAnna Taylor returned last Saturday to her home at her motel in Fort Klamath after spending two weeks in Lakeview where she visited Mrs. Dan Doody and family. Dur ing her absence, Mrs. William A Page of Fort Klamath was in charge of the motel. Home Alf Henderson of New Pine Creek is convalescing at home after spending a week as a patient in an Alturas hospital. At the end of basic training, he is due to come home on leave before reporting to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, where he will attend Army paratrooper school Home Lester Johnson returned to his home in Macdoel Sunday morning from his naval base at San Diego. He received his dis charge January 28 after four years in tne aavy. Moved The Evert Lawson fam ily of the New Pine Creek area has moved into the Jack Moffitt property in New Pine Creek after their home was damaged by fire last week. To N'ubieber Elder and Mrs Jeff Swinney of New Pine Creek were in Nubieber Sunday, where he held morning and evening serv ices. The Nubieber pastor. Elder Jamie Johnson, and his wife were in New Pine Creek where Elder Johnson held corresponding serv ices. The Johnsons were guests at the Donald Evans home in New Pine Creek. Teachers Mrs. Oscar Deming of Lakeview was substitute teach er for four days last week in the lower room of the Kelly Creek School while the teacher, Mrs. Doris Colohan, was absent. Mrs. Colohan underwent minor surgery in Mamath Valley Hospital last week. Mrs. Dcatherage of Lake view supplied the teaching in the lower room on Monday. In Hospital Mrs. Flora Ham- mersley. New Pine Creek, was a patient in the Lakeview Hospital last week, but is now staying with her daughter, Mrs. Harold Langs- lett, in Lakeview Trust Officer Richard E. Hay- man of Burlingame, California, was recently elected trust officer at the Union Trust Office of the Wells-Fargo Bank in San Francis co, according to word received in New Pine Creek. Hayman is the husband of the former Wilma Blur ton, daughter of Mrs. Zclla Blur- ton and granddaughter of Mrs. Sylvester Gallagher of New Pine Creek. From Corona Mr. and Mrs. George Caldwell of Corona, Cali fornia, recently moved into the Lil lian Reid Deal house on Church Street in New Pine Creek. UPI Offi cials were so touched by the troubles of the young couple who sold their 8-year old twin boys for $300 that they dropped all charges against them. The latest to die, and the third victim this month, was Virginia Belle Gilgcn, 42. of St. Helens. She died Thursday night at St. Vincent's Hospital in Portland of injuries suffered the night before. Mr. and Mrs.' Clark D. Stillion Thursday turned over the twins, Mrs. Stillion's children, by a pre vious marriage, to a policewoman and a juvenile officer who posed as a childless couple. The officer gave Stillion $300 in marked bills and promised to re turn in an hour with $200 more. In return Stillion made out a "bill of sale" for the boys.
