New officers elected for 1959 were Mrs. Clara Cloud, presi. dent: Mrs. Birdie Cruzon, vice president; and Mrs. Nettie Noble, secretary treasurer. Hall Photo by McKinney, Mount Shasta Two Celebrate Golden Wedding GRENADA Colors of golden yel low predominated the decorations used in the Grenada Community Hall on Sunday afternoon, January 11, the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Facey, orig inally from Noyes Valley, near Callahan, and who have resided in Orions Install New Officers Little Shasta Auction Club MONTAGIE A note of sprinc predominated the decorations used by Mrs. Aldee Davis in her home n Little Shasta, when she enter ained the Little Shasta Auction Club on Wednesday afternoon, January 14. assisted by Jessie Coonrod of Yreka. Mrs. Davis had bouquets of ycl low jasmine and pussy willows in he party rooms, and a deligimui desert luncheon Was served prior o the afternoon s play. High prizes were won in the or der mentioned as tollows: .Mrs. F.dith Williams. Mrs. Charlotte Davis, Mrs. Gladys Hart and Mrs. Shirley Haight, the latter also cap luring one ot the traveling prizes. Low prize winners were wis. Grace Leavers and Mrs. Ora Mc Gregor, with Mrs. Leavers win ning the second traveling prize. Others present, in addition to those mentioned, included Mrs, Ina Bullock, Mrs. Mildred Fiock. Mrs. Morris Prather, Mrs. Effie Butler, Mrs. Brice Long. Mrs. Al lie Moore, Mrs. Henrietta Terwil liger, and Mrs. Larry Walters. Committees Appointed MERRILL - Glenda Story, cently installed president of Alpna Omega Theta Hho Jo. 48, appoint I'd committees to serve during the year at a regular meeting held Thursday evening, January 15, .it the .Merrill Odd Fellows Hall. Appointed to Ihe entertainment committee were Sandy Cahan, Cholaine , Moore and Anne Brick- ncr. The news reporter is Claudia Ainsworth; historian. Maxine Burns: cards and gifts, Carol Lee Haskins. Elected as drill captain was Susan Lee. Assistant drill cap tain is Gloria Cahan. Drill prac tice will be held every Monday and Thursday after school. Initiation of two new members will be held at the next meet ing scheduled for Thursday. Feb ruary 5. All members are asked to wear formats. NINE-MONTH-OLD TWINS. Leonard Lee Jr. and Lorraine Marie, are children of Mr. and Mrs, Leonard LeBow of Ventura, California. Their father graduated from Bonanza High School. Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Olen LeBow and great grandfather C. F. Roberts all formerly of Bonanza now live at Burney. The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Turner, also of Burney. Mrs. Roland Cofer. president, presided at the short business meeting. Mrs. Fred Biehn, past presi dent, installed Mrs. Charles York as president: Mrs. Preston Card, vice president: Mrs. James Sweatt, secretary and Mrs. Carl Pernigotti. treasurer. She presented each offi cer with a handkerchief corsage. Prizes for games were awarded to Mrs. Bert Hegler, Mrs. Charles Howard and Mrs. John Weber. The door prize was won by Mrs. Cleta Paddock. Over 100 relatives and friends gathered to honor the couple, and to enjoy a festive dinner. Hostesses were the five daughters of the cou pie. Streamers of gold and white were festooned across the ceiling of the hall, and suspended from the center was a large golden "50." Bouquets of golden yellow chrysan themums were used for table decor ations, while the honorees' table held a three-tiered cake, beautiful ly decorated in gold and white, and topped with the traditional min iature bride and bridegroom, and flanked on each side with golden candles. Mrs. Facey, now a sprightly 72, was Fanny Pitts, when Tom Facey. now 92, claimed her as his bride 50 years ago. on January 11, 1909, in Noycs Valley, the ceremony be ing performed by Judge Henry Hayden. iney have live sons, be sides the aforementioned five daughters, all living. There are 30 grandchildren, and 10 great-grand children. The sons and daughters of the Faceys are Tom Facey of Grenada: Aldon and Chester Fac ey, of Mt. Shasta; Fred Facey of Etna; Burell Facey of Butte Falls, Oregon: Amanda Brecot of Repub lic, Washington; May Facey and Mrs. Hazel Woods of Woodland; Mrs. Flossie Warner of Oroville; and Mrs. Ruth Bortolazzo of Gre nada, all of whom were present for the festive occasion. PINOCHLE PARTY BONANZA Mrs. Roy Fernlund entertained with a pinochle party at her home the evening of Jan uary 14. High prize for the eve ning went to Mrs. Charles Schmid li, second high to Marilyn Math ews and Mrs. Bob Schmor won the traveling prize.
