November 3 to 7, it was re ported at the regular meeting of the hiskiyou Artists Association held at the Yreka Inn on Sunday, October 5. The business session was con ducted by the vice president, Mrs Hoy Dunham, in the absence of the president. Jerry .Jenkins. A general discussion predominat ed the afternoon relative to how to handle the many paintings that will he on display in l reka, Montague Weed, Gazelle, Mount Shasta and Dunsmuir. Mrs. Ituby Churchill and Mrs Retty Dow, both of Montague, can vassed Yreka and Montague mer chants and Mrs. Churchill reported that 3!) business firms in Yreka had agreed to display paintings and five merchants in Montague will also participate. Mrs. I.ucile Newton of Dunsmuir reported that one store in Mount Shasta, and two in D u n s m u i r agreed to show pictures. Mrs. Cal la Lukes, a noted painter herself from Mna, and who has had her work shown in New' York, reported (hat Scott Valley artists preler to display their pictures in rort Jones end I'.lna. Members are urged to attend the next meeting Sunday afternoon. No vemher 2, and to bring two or three paintings with them, which will be used for display purposes. Home Extension ins IJfn-ftfis.tf! PAT O'DONAHUE Miss O'Dnnahue's previous ex perience with children has includ ed work with the 4-H and the Mt I. a k i Community Presbyterian Church Sunday School. She has had one year's work with the Camp Fire Girls and five with the Girl Scouts. She served as a camp counselor and nature instructor with the Girl Scouts. Her hobbies include drawing and painting paleontology, slide photography, nature study, hiking and riding "We were very fortunate to be able to recruit someone like Pat for our staff," Miss Cooper savs "In addition to her other qualifi cations, her college background has prepared her to build up our book collection, especially in sci ence. One of Miss O'Donahue's duties will be to iiKike the rounds on the bookmobile, which goes out to different schools of the county sys tem every luesday and Thursday. She will be assisted by Vivian Wise, who is continuing as as sistant to the children's librarian. KLAMATH COUNTY ! Tin can craft will be taught to the units during the month of October. Lillian Hollman, 4 II Cluh coun ty leader, reported on attending a 4-H Leaders Association meeting September ft with 24 present, and a 4-H Fair at Prineville Septem ber 23. The 411 achievement ban quet will he held at the fair grounds October 23 where awards will he given.
