MfEPW Rules Told Any farmer who has eroplmi which is regularly used for culti vated crops or tame hay is eli Bible to participate in the l'jai Conservation Reserve of the Sail Bank, Chairman Earl Wilson of the Klamath County Agricultural Sta bilization and Conservation Cs mittee, announced today. Using Conservation Reserve reg ulations, the chairman defines "eligible" and "ineligible" land for the program as follows: Eligible land includes: 1) Any land from which a crop was har vested or which was in regular crop rotation in 1950, and (2) land Irom which tame hay was harvest ed for hay or silage in cither 1957 or 1958. Tame hay is defined as "a stand of perennial grasses or legumes normally established for hay by land preparation and seeding. Non-eligible land includes (1) That planted to small fruils. vine yards nursery stock, orchard or nut trees, and land between rows of these crops; 2 any land owned by the federal government or a corporation wholly owned by the federal government; and (31 land in noncrop open pasture, range, woods, or in the farmstead. In Klamath County. Chairman Wilson said, the smallest amount of land that can be put in the Conservation Reserve is five acres. If the entire acreage to be put in the program is to be planted to forest trees, however, as little as two acres may be planted. --- v i Additional Ships Arrive At Isle TAIPEf, Formosa (AP) Two more Nationalist supply convoys have reached Qucmoy despite the heaviest Communist bombardmenl in more than a week, the Defense Ministry said today. In addition to the sea convoys train jvionaay and Tuesday, sup plies were parachuted to the be sieged offshore island both days, the ministry announced. The ministry did not disclose tne amount ot cargo deposited on the Quemoy beach or the num ber of ships and planes involved. A" f, , A GRANITE PEAK IN BRITISH COLUMBIA has been named Lorenzen Mountain in honor of a Mounr Shasta attorney. L. N. Lorenzen, who also is a big game hunter and world traveler, scaled the sides of this peak in the Selkirk to bag a mountain goat when he was 70 years old. .jiVi. Jk. .
