She was one of 15 students to receive a Pendleton Tuition Scholar ship, and the only freshman so honored from Oregon. Ruth is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Marshall A. Mc Kinnie, 2160 Garden Ave nue. Rev. McKinnie is pas tor of the Congregational Church in Klamath Fa MERRILL The First Presby terian Church of Merrill was the setting on Saturday. September 6, for the marriase ot Martha Marie Beasly. daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. Rov S. Beafly of Merrill. and Kenneth V. Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. VirgU L. Martin of Klamath Falls. Large baskets containing ar rangements of white gladioli and chrysanthemums f 0 r m e a me background for the impressive sin- le ring ceremony. Officiating at ihe 8 p.m. nuptials was the Rev. Lloyd Henderson. Mrs. Ab Herringhsaw, organist. played the incidental music and traditional wedding marches. Cora tinman, vocalist, sang two nunv bers before the wedding party ap proached the altar and The Lord's Prayer" during the ceremony. Escorted down the aisle and giv. en in marriage by her father, the bride's beauty was emphasized by her waltz length gown of heavy white lace over satin. The sheath fitted skirt featured a drop waist line in back and an added inter est of a satin bustle. The fitted bodice was fashioned with a Sa brina neckline and long sleeves which tapered to a point over her wrists. Martha's shoulder length veil, borrowed from her sister, was held in place by a close fitting cap encrusted with seed pearls and se quins. She carried an arrangement of white roses on a white Bible. Mrs. Leroy Johnson (Esther Reasly), sister of the bride, was the bride's only attendant. She va gowned in a frock of beige nylon chiffon accented by patterned flowers in a deeper shade of mauve. The full skirt had back detail of flowing panels. The bod ice featured a Sabrina neckline and three-quarter length sleeves On her head she wore a matching heige headband with a short veil The matron of honor's bouquet was an arrangement of talisman roSes. Best man was Leroy Johnson of Klamath Falls and brother-in-law of the bride. Ushers were Tom and Bill Beasly, the bride's broth ers, and Duane Johnson. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Beasly chose a green two piece suit with brown accessories. Mrs. Martin was attired in a blue two piece ensemble with matching accessories, i-ach mother wore a talisman rose shoulder corsage. A reception in the church parlor room for the 150 wedding guests was held immediately fol lowing the ceremony. Serving the three-tiered wedding cake were Pauline Clark, Pearl McPherson Louise Beasly and Marilyn Me Pherson. Presiding at the coffee service were Nancy McPherson and Mary Lou Loveness. The punch bowl was attended by Ar- lene Trotman ana Loreiia tneyne At the gift table were Nancy and Bobby Merrilees, cousins of the bride. Assisting with the guest book was. Kathryn Barnes. All the reception arrangements were undertaken by Mrs. Clovis Story. Mrs. Wendell Moore. Mrs Don Barnes and Mrs. Leonard Johnson, close friertds of the fam ily. For her going-away outfit, the new Mrs. Martin wore a green paisley ensemble, black velvet hat and complementing accessories The bride, a graduate ot Merrill High School, attended St. Luke's School of Nursing in San Fran cisco from which she graduated 1957. The bridegroom, a grad uate of Klimiath Union High School, attended the University of Colorado before entering service in 11155. He is now sergeant in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. The couple is at home at the base until Mar tin's discharge in February. Out of town guests attending the event were Mrs. David Seed and daughter. Kathy. El Cerrito, Cali fornia: Mr. and Mrs. John Seed, Dunsmuir; Mr. and Mrs. J. B Kidwell, Ashland; Mr. and Mrs Eugene Beasly and daughters, Central Point; Mrs. Hazel Bow men, Central Point. Pre-nuptial events Included a Teen-age Party In Bonanza BONANZA Mrs. Roy Fernlund gave a party at the Bonanza Li brary the evening of September t in honor of her daughter Joan who was celebrating her 13lh birthday that day. The party was a "sockhop" with decorations carrying out that theme. The birthday cake was pink and white with rock 'n' roll songs written all over the top and mu sical instruments of plastic were around the edge. Scott Wooten brought his record player and records and the 22 teen agers enjoyed dancing until 11 o'clock. Joan received many nice gifts from her friends. personal shower held early in Au gust with Mrs. Delbert Dehlinger as hostess. On August 27 a mis cellaneous shower was held at the Merrill Presbyterian Church with numerous close friends as hostesses. the ing MR. AND MRS. KENNETH V. Ferebee Photo Cousins Share Birthday Party DUNSMUIR-Caroline Clark and Lily Test, cousins, were jointly feted at a birthday party at the Dunsmuir City Park September 6. Games, prizes and refreshments were featured during the afternoon of fun. A helping hand was pro vided by Mr. and Mrs. Leon Test, parents of one honoree: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Clark, parents of the other honoree; Mr. and Mrs, James Periera and Mr. and Mrs D. 0. Cassell. Invitations were sent to Pat and Mike Flannery. John Periera, Mar sha and Ted Turnin. Tommy and Timmy Davis, Carol Valenzuela, Georgia Dean Morrow, Tommy Harper, Tommy Test, Carl Clark, Leese and Stephanie Petrovic, Nanette Kneehone, Janel Weldon Margie Caswell, Venida and Wayne Champlin, Tim and Jim Cart- wright. MRS. JOHN RICHARDSON Photo by Wong Studio, Portland Portland Woman Luncheon Speaker A luncheon meeting at 1 p.m. of the Klamath Chapter Daughters of the American Colonists at which Mrs. John Y. (Ruth Rosel Rich ardson, state regent, will he guest speaker, has been announced by Mrs. Arch G. Proctor, regent of the local chapter. Mrs. Richardson is well known nationally as well as statewide, as she is a past national officer of DAR and an honorary state re gent. She Is an attorney as well as public accountant with offices in Portland, her home city. At present, she is working enthusi astically as chairman for the restoration of the Dr. Robert Newell house committee. It is hoped to have this work completed in time for the Oregon Centennial celebration of 1959. Mrs. Richardson has held many Portland city offices. She was city judge for five years and served as the woman representa tive on Ihe City Zoning Commis sion and City Inter-racial Com- mission Her only daughter. Ruth Rose, is head of the English de partment and public relations di rector at St. Helens Hall. Mrs. George Mclntyre will pre sent Mrs. Eugene Favell in vocal selections following the luncheon which will be at the Pelican Party Room on September 27.
