Photo by Guderian Rites at St. Michaels Episcopal Church Unite Popular Couple t YREKA Arrangements of while gladioli and stock decorated the altar of St. Michael's Episcopal Church at Anaheim, when Averill Roberts of Anaheim, formerly of Montague and Vreka, and James N. Griffin of Santa Ana, repeated ;their nuptial vows. The double .ring ceremony was read by Rev. John K. Saville. ! Averill is the daughter of Mrs. George Saint and the late Floyd Roberts, formerly of Montague. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs.. Lillian Griffin of Santa Ana. Given in marriage by her step father, George Saint, the bride wore a floor-length gown of tulle and lace, fashioned with a bouffant skirt of tulle with an apron of .lace. The snug fitting bodice featured a Queen Anne collar. A white velvet crown held her finger tip veil of illusion in place, and her bridal bouquet was white rose buds and stephanolis. For something old the bride "wore her grandmother's 54-year-old wedding band. For something new she carried a white prayer book. Her pearl earrings were something borrowed and her garter was blue. . The bride's sister, Mrs. Gene Burgess (the former Pat Roberts ;of Yreka) now of Anaheim, was matron of honor. Mrs. Doreen Reed 'of Grenada, another sister of the '.bride, Betty Maxwell and Barbara Peterson, both of Anaheim, served as bridesmaids. Mrs. Burgess, as matron of hon or, was gowned in pink, which fea tured a lace Empire styled bodice and full taffeta skirt. Gowns worn 'by the bridesmaids were blue, fash ioned identically to that of the matron of honor. Bouquets of pink carnations were carried by each of the attendants. ' Holly Sue Burgess of Anaheim, .a niece of the bride, was the 3-ycar-old flower girl. She wore a nink taffeta, full skirted frock. Mitchell Eddy of Grenada, the bride's nephew, was the ring bear er. Best man duties were performed by Robert McFadden ot Anaheim, Guests were seated by Gene Bur gess, Anaheim, Frank Negrete and Richard Bnggs, both ot Santa Ana For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Saint chose a pink lace over taffeta gown, with matching acces sories. Mrs. Griffin, mother of the bridegroom, wore an afternoon frock of gray lace over pink tat feta with matching accessories. Corsages of pink rosebuds were worn by each mother. ' Seventy five guests attended the reception, held immediately follow ing the ceremony, on the patio at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Burgess. A caterer served the huflct supper, assisted by Mrs. William C. Bailey of Inglewood, an aunt of the bride. Kathleen Bailey, cousin of the bride, registered the "guests. For hcr-honeymoon trip to Mexi co, the new bride chose a blue linen suit with white accessories. The newlyweds will reside in Ana heim. . The bride was a graduate of the 'Montague Elementary School and .Yreka High School. The bride- groom is a graduate of Santa Ana High School, and also attended 'Santa Ana Junior College. Ships and travel folders carried out the theme for the table decorations. Guests who enjoyed the evening were Sharon Taylor, Paula Cook, Sally Burke Swanson, Mary Margaret A'Jdison, Nancy Drew, Verna Jean Henzel, and her houseguest, Pat McCabe of California. Becky Short, senior princess of Henley Bethel No. 51, and Penny I'reston, junior princess of Bethel No. 61, were escorted and given a welcome. Vicky Fairchild, Henley Bethel No. 51 and Pat Crawley, grand marshal of the Grand Bethel of Oregon, were introduced and given a welcome. Honored Queen Jancy installed Charmien Bichn as librarian. Committees named for the term by Honored Queen Jancy are sun shine, Diane Drew and Joan Wiz ner; publicity, Susan Moss and Nancy Warren; and social, Tama ra Wagner, Sharon McCormick and Jane Swaney. Senior Princess Pat Crawley an nounced her project for this term which is each girl earns one dollar and the one earning it in the most unusual way wins an award. Mikesell of Klamath Falls are parents of the bridegroom, Janice Smith was maid of honor and Lorraine Stowe, and Merielyn Hossfeld, sister of the bride, were brides maids. Glen Lake was best man and ushers were Charles Hahn and David Hossfeld, the bride's brother. The couple visited with his parents and his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Stephens, in Klamath Falls on their trip to Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, California, where the bridegroom is stationed.
