Chinese Communists stepped up
their artillery attack on the Tan
islets in Amoy Bay today, hurling
a blistering 7. 1211 shell into the

LOS ANGELES (AP) A former
rodeo queen has asked Superior
Court to name rodeo star Casey
Tibbs the father of her 3-year-old
daughter.
Leah J. Conner's suit, filed
Thursday, said Tibbs refused to
nay expenses when the girl was
born at Salem, Ore. Miss Conner
said Tibbs has since paid her $820
tor support of the child.
Miss Conner is a former queen
of the Pendleton, Ore., roundup
Tibbs, world champion cowboy in
1951 and 1955, appears in a rodeo
here Sunday. He is from Fort
Pierre, S.D.
