WEED A two-way radio is
the most recent equipment in

Commerce announced this week.
With the installation of the radio
system, the ambulance drivers will
now be in direct contact with the
International Paper Company fire-
tower radio which is on a fre
quency with the California High
way Patrol, Yrcka office, and the
Weed, Mount Shasta and Dunsmuir
police departments. The Weed po
lice radio is on a frequency with

fice, thus'making a complete hook
up to meet any emergency need
during the ambulance's course of
travel or operation.
The ambulance was a commun-
ily gift presented in 1956 by the
Mallory Chevrolet Company of
Weed and for use to Weed resi
dents and those of neighboring
communities. It has b e e n ade
quately equipped to meet all reg
ulation requirements through con
tributions from residents through
out the county. The ambulance is
housed at the International Paper
Company fire s t a t i on and is
manned by the off-duty firemen
wnen needed.
