Newswoman Dead At 85 NEW YORK (AP) Nellie Re- vell, noted newspaper woman, au thor, and theatrical press agent who once was termed the nation's most famous invalid, is dead at 85. Miss Revell died Tuesday at University Hospital. Final rites will be held at Springfield, III., where she had her first newspa per job on the old Illinois Repub lican, edited and published by her father. A native of Riverton, 111., Miss Revell left her father's employ to work on newspapers from coast to coast. In the early 1920s she was hos pitalized with a severe spinal ill ness. Bedridden for several years in St. Vincent's Hospital here, she wrote two books: "Right Off the Chest" and "Fightin' Through." When she emerged frorri the hospital, confined to a wheel chair about 1,200 celebrities gave her a coming out party. The master of ceremonies was Eddie Cantor. Miss Revell was one of the first women to cover a prize fight. Jim Corbett objected to her plan to attend his fight with Bob Fitzsim mons. Miss Revell told Corhett: "If I don't come, neither will Fitzsim- inons. I don't think he has to any way. He could lick you by mail." Corbett, amused, invited her to the fight. Fitzsimmons won.
