met at the home of Mrs. Georfie
Heiling. Susan Tuhach called the
meeting to order. The minutes
were read and roll was called by
Mary Wells, secretary.) Members
present were Sharry Sherman, Su
san Tubach, Mary Wells, and Car-
nl Hciling. The treasurer reported
Siu.Ri in the club treasury. Sharry
Sherman and Sally Wenz will give
3 demonstration at the fair next
month. The next meeting will be
July 30. A motion was made and
seconded that the meeting be
adjourned.
.Mary Wells thon demonstrated
the freezer. Carol Reiling gave
demonstration on preparing sugar
cyrup peaches for tlje freezer using
a non-darkening agent in both.
For refreshments, Mrs. Keiling
served fruit salad which was a
recipe taken from the club files.

natural food, and burrows in
levees and canals.
The animal, also known as the
coypu and South American bea
ver, is raised for its fur.

School Board
Receives Bids
Two bids were received by the
school board of District No. 1 at
the Monday evening meeting for
rernofing Fremont School. 715
High Street, according to Harold
B. Ashley, clerk of the school dis
trict. Bidders were llenris Roofing
Company, $3,687 and C. Fitzger
ald, $4,798.30.
The work involved includes fur
nishing and applying approximate
ly 152 squares of Johns-.Mnnville
type built-up roofing. The regular
roofing squares arc 100 square fool
sections each.
As the amounts bid were above
the estimated cost of the re
pair work, a special committee
was named to study the bids and
also to investigate the possibility
of bonded roofing. The committee
will report at the school board
meeting to he held at 7:30 p.m. on
Monday, August 11.
