Her hus band made a brief trip here, but returned to Portland last week. After spending several days visiting with his sister, Mrs. Ella J. Russey of Yreka, Burns Nelson ,of El Cajon, California, left last weeK to return nome. Montague Visitors Mr. and Mrs. Martin Brady of Areata, former residents of the Montague-Yreka area, were recent visitors of rela tives and friends in both commu nities, Montague Mr. and Mrs. War ren J. Nichols recently learned that their son, Norman C. Nichols, teaman apprentice, is now serv ing with the Columbia River Paci fic Reserve Fleet at the Tongue Point Naval Station, in Astoria. First Son Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Edwards of Yreka, now visit ing with his parents in Hannibal, Missouri, have announced the birth ol their first haby, a boy, born at St. Elizabeth's Hospital on July i 6, weighing 7 lbs., in ozs. He has been named Michael Richard. Mrs. Edwards was first grade teacher at Montague last year. Before they return to Yreka August 15, they plan to visit her parents in Sar caxie, Missouri. Edwards is a teacher and coach at Yreka High School. Home Visit Mr. and Mrs. Don ald Griffin and family have been visiting in Lakeview during Ihe past week with his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Gordon Griffin, and other members of the family. Fol lowing a trip to the Coast and attendance at the wedding of a niece, the visitors will return to their home in Lincoln, Nebraska Trip East Mrs. Dick Cosgrove daughters Norine and Joanna, and Mr;. Ray Michaelson and daugh ter, Diana, left Lakeview Friday atternoon on a three weeks trip wmcn win lake them to Elkins west Virginia, for a visit with another Cosgrove daughter. Mrs Ed Vinoski, her husband, and two daughters. From there they will go to Washington. D.C.. points in Pennsylvania, and a stopover in i nicago, where a brother ol Mrs. Cosgrove resides. Canada Visit Mrs. Vern Troxell and daughter, Ruthie, of Lake view, and Mrs. Mickey Jones and small son, Brad, of Alturas. re. turned Tuesday from a three weeks visit with relatives in Banff. Cow Relics Mrs. Don Holchkiss. president of the Lake County Cow Belles, and Mrs. Erwin Abram son, past president, were among the guesls at a buffet luncheon at the Bell A Ranch near Burns on Saturday. July 19. Mrs. Cam eron Cliff, hosloss. was assisted by Mrs, Newton Holchkiss and Ilda Mne Hayes of Burns. The occasion was an executive board meeting of the stale Cow Belles. Resignation The Rev. David St. George, paslor of St. Luke's Epis copal Church in Lakeview tor the past three years, has announced his resignation, elfrclive Augusl 30, to accept Ihe post of assistant reclor of Christ Church at Short Hills, New Jersey, which is near his home town of Montclair. Rummage Sale The Altar Soci ety of St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Yreka, will hold a rummage sale on August 22 and 23 in the parish hall. Mrs. Dolores Clay ton is chairman. Summer Worker Assisting with Ihe Alturas Baptist Church Daily Vacation Bible School is David Kinsley, high school teacher of Warlburg. Tennessee. The school, which will continue through next week, has an average daily atten dance of 60. They will visit his son, Vernon, and family in Wash ington and her son and family in Idaho belore returning home. From Altura-Mrs. 0. C. Wells. Alturas, is spending a week in Bonanza with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Pepple. From Canada Carl Moser is a visitor from Canada at Ihe homes of his daughters, Mrs. Jake War ner, and family of Bonanza and Mrs. George Woods, and family of Dairy. Moser had not seen his daughters for over 30 years. Mr and Mrs. Jake Moser of Idaho are also visiting at the homes of his two sisters. No Card Parlies The Guild of St. Barnabas Church of Langell Valley is not having the monthly card parties lor several months. Ihe date will he announced when one is planned. Visitors Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tyrell, Mill Valley, California, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. David Rob inson and family of Bonanza. Cher yl Sutherland of Chemult is also a guest at Ihe home of her grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robinson Vacation Mr. and Mrs. Barney Brown and three sons of Bonanza have been vacationing at Lake Ta hoe and Sacramenlo with former residents of Bonanza, Mr. and Mrs Enos Bland and Debbie, El Segunda visitors al the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hartley of Bonanza for a few days were Mr. and Mis. Gordon Hancock and four children. Rnnanza Sarah Ross,- who taught school at Hermislon last year, is a visitor at the homos of her twin sons, Byron and Burgess and son. Bob, and their families, all of Bonanza. Purchased Dr. Frank O'Ncil and Arthur Flagor, Marysville. have purchased Ihe Earl Cochran ranch in Langell Valley. The ranch will be named the F. O, Hereford Ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Klngor and two children will live on the ranch. Home Mr. and Mrs. Harry Noble and daughters have returned to Langell Valley for a few days Irnm Sacramento where they are spending the summer at rodeo headquarters.
