Among the top meat buys will be those long time favorites broilers, fryers, and turkeys, along with chuck roasts and smoked hams for out - of doors eating. Most dairy products continue abundant, and some markets will have favorable price tags on small pullet egs. Best fish buys include shrimp. fish sticks, and canned tuna. That s the food shopping situa tion for this weekend, from a na tional ' standpoint. Here's a look at food counters in the area: West (Arizona. California, Ida ho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon Utah. Washington, Wyoming): Fryer chickens, pork loins, and fresh fruits and vegetables will provide consumers with a variety of good buys this weekend. Supplies of fryer chickens are ample, with prices mostly 1 or 2 cents a pound lower than a week ago. Pork loins are down 2 to 4 cents a pound, and smoked hams are 2 cents a pound lower. Beef is in fairly good supply this week, with slightly lower prices on beef chuck in the north west, and rounds and ribs 1 or 2 cents a pound lower in the San Francisco area. Calf, veal, and lamb continue in rather light sup ply, and prices are mostly un changed from a week ago. Lower in price this week are plentiful fruits and vegetables in cluding melons, nectarines, peaches, plums, corn, lettuce, squash, tomatoes, bunched vege tables, and dry onions. In good supply are avocados, berries, figs, grapes, grapefruit, oranges, lemons, carrots, cauliflower, cu cumbers, celery, and potatoes. Lgg prices are mostly 1 to 3 cents a dozen higher this week, and butter prices are unchanged. Best fish buys are salmon, rockfish, halibut and sole.
