Steppe, 36, was one of (our men who lost their lives July 22 when a boat capsized while they were on duty at the Brownlee Dan Projrct on the Snake River near Weiscr, Idaho. All four were em ployes of the Morrison-Knudson Construction Company as iron workers. Rev. and Mrs. M. A. McKinney will attend the family camp belore tne season closes. Proclamation Closes Lake Rim I.AKEVIEW Fremont Forest Supervisor Clayton N. Weaver has announced that Gov. Robert D Holmes signed a proclamation or July 15 which closed the hummer Lake Rim area elfective from am alter midnight July 17. Going or being upon this land is prohibited except with a permit for those having business in the area. Thesi hermits can he obtained trom me listrict ranger at Paisley. Thif closure is for the same area asi last year, and roughly takes in all the area from the Fremont Highway to the lop of the Sum mer Lake Rim. The closure is made necessary by the extreme high fire hazard in this area. Regional Forester J. Herbert Stone likewise closed this same area under Regulation T-l, Section 1, from the secretary ot agricul ture. There have been a number of disastrous fires under the Sum mer Lake Rim during the last 50 years. Now the addition of large amounts of slash has made the fire danger critical. This closure will reduce the chance of man caused fires, Weaver said. Obituaries STEPPE Richard Timothy Steppe, 36, died near Weiser, Idaho. July 22. Bridges, president f the In ternational Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Union, said the Aug. 14 conference in Washington would help avoid "jurisdictional disputes and ruinous inter-port competition."
