HAROLD BRESSLER, 3322 Homedale Road, gazes gloom
ily at the safety glass of the rear window of his car, which
went abruptly and inexplicably to pieces Tuesday morning.
The window was in apparently perfect shape at 8:30 a.m.,
but was in the process of disintegration at 10 when Bress
ler was preparing to drive off. Tiny glass splinters were
flying out on both sides of the glass. The car is a 1951
model, and the glass was the original pane, so if it was in
any way defective, this fact took long enough to come to
light. The car was unloaded at the time of the crackup,
and was parked !n a driveway well back from the road.
There was no evidence of pressure on the pane.
