Clovai U Mcrctarv College Slates Guest Talker Dr. Arthur Kreisman, professor of humanities at Southern Oregon College, Ashland, will be guest speaker at a special meeting nt the Klamath Falls Unitarian rel lowshin Saturday, July 12. Dr. Kreisman is "well known In Klamath and Mod lord area TV viewers for his recent "Invitation to Learning" series on Karly American Literature and to Klam alh students and graduates of SOC who studied in his classes. Topic of his lecture will be Where Do Unitarians Come From?" Hejias been associated with Unitarianism for many years and is an active member of the Rogue Valley Unitarian Fellow (hip. Saturday's meeting is one of a series, featuring guest speakers, which has been arranged for the summer months. Coffee is served at 7:30 followed by the meeting at 8 p.m. at the regular meeting place, the Klam ath Art Center, off Alameda Street The public is invited. Vacation Bible Schedule Told TULELAKE Vacation Bible School is sceduled at First Baptist Church, Tulelake, California, July 14-25. from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday through Friday. This Bible school is for all children ages 4-lfi years in the Tulelake community who do not attend a Sunday School and those who attend Sunday School at First Baptist Church. A Bible School parade is sched uled for Friday morning, July 11 following the pre-enrollmcnt of pu pils scheduled for 10 a.m. A 1 1 pupils who pre-enroll in the Bible School may participate in the par ade. Special emphasis will be given to Bible study however the school has a well rounded program of activi ties. These activities include Bi ble study. Bible stories, Bible mem ory work, missionary activities, music, character stories, recrea tion, handwork and refreshments. Teachers for the school include Mrs. Tony Kosta. Miss Pat Pierce. Mrs. John Pierce. Mrs. Emma Hendricks, Mrs. Jim Massey, Mrs. Kenneth Brantley, and Mrs. Sher man Blackburn. Two missionaries working in the area of the Bap tist General Convention of Ore gon and Washington. Miss Kather- Ine McBride, and Miss Denicc Magnus will also be guest teach ers in the Bible School. Troy Hall, pastor, will be the princi pal of the school and may be con tacted by calling 7-24.11 for infor information about the school. Dunsmuir Church Names Anderson DUNSMUIR Dave Anderson was named chairman ot the board t the first meeting of the First Methodist Church board for the current church year. William 1. Humphrey is the new secretary. Commission heads reporting at the meeting were Mrs. Harold Raughman, education: William Humphrey, finance; Harry Har per, evangelism, and Mrs. Rex Macmillan, missions. Their newly named assistants are Mrs. Bev erley Mason, education secretary; and Paul Davis, finance secre tary. It was announced that Robert Dewey had again been named lay leader of the church at the recent quarterly conference. The Rev 0. A. Terrell is the minister. Total church membership has rien to 310 this year, with the ad dilion of 51 new members. SP Employes Slate Picnic DUNSMUIR Recognition of the excellent safety record of Shas ta division nf Southern Pacific Company will he given at a si ries of picnics for employes and their families. Employes working in the vicinity nf Dunsmuir are invited to the Mount Shasta Park on July 22 for a barbecued beef dinner. Serving will begin early in the afternoon and continue through early evening so all can attend regardless of their working hours. We went to each member's home and all members received lips on "pidging." The meeting was held afterward and the decoration theme was decided for the fall fair. The next meeting will be at Susan Bebber's home on July 10. Eleanor Alberts POE VALLEY FREEZE RETTES The Poe Valley Kreezerettes met at the home of Mrs. Lillian Rollins on June 30. The meting was called to order by President Susan Beb her. Roll. was called and each member answered by g i v i n g a kitchen hint. Mrs. Lillian Hoffman, county ex tension agent, talked about the fair and some of the ways in which to can. preserve and freeze vegeta bles. A motion was made and second ed that the meeting be adjourned. Mrs. Reiling then demonstrated how to can different kinds of pic kles and also demonstrated one way to freeze corn on the cob. Two of the newer members froze two pints of boysenberries. There -were two members absent. Carol Reiling who is away at sum mer school and Mary Wells, who was working in her father's fields. Refreshments of watermelon and cantaloupe were served. Linda Lanphear COUNTRY CAMPERS Meals were cooked with the foil method on Tuesday. June 24. at the home of Mrs. Francis Skinner. The meals consisted of hamburger pat lies, sliced potatoes, and sliced carrots. We had "some-mores" for dessert: these are graham crack ers, chocolate bars, and roasted marshmallows. The meeting was called lo order by President Scott Skinner, and the salutes were given. There were 10 members present. The next meeting nf the Country Campers on Friday. June 27, bread twists were cooked over an open fire, using the green stick method. They are the livestock day at the Yreka Fairground! starting at 12:30 p.m. July 13 and the dress revue to be held July 25 and 26 at the Yreka High School gymnasium. Recent events of the Crag View 4-H Club are a wiener roast and watermelon feast on July 2 at th Malen Johnson ranch near Mc. Cloud. Members attending were Charlene Day. At the party at the home of Mrs. Wi son Callick. members of the cooking project entertained leaders and mothers witn a lunch eon and style show. Potato salad, fried chicken, as sorted relishes, blueberry muffins, brownies and iced tea were served. Margaret Callick, who is raising a guide dog for the blind, gave a training demonstration. Lillian Es tep, Charlene Day, Margaret Cal lick and Frances diCristina mod eled the. clothing they had made for their project this year.
