Silver Lake, to Prineville Tuesday where they met Mrs. .Markus' son, Marvin, who was returnine from the Episcopal Church sum mer camp at Cove. Thev visited with Mr. and Mrs. Reason Harris, who recently lost their daughter louowing a lingering illness. Summer Lake Game Commis sion families, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Vera Maw and family, camped and fished at Dead Horse Lake during me long weekend. Attending daily vacation Bi ble school in Paisley from Sum mer Lake are Elizabeth and Ter ry Ann Foster, Ronnie Markus and Unda, Tommy and Danny Carlon. Providing transportation and teach ing a class is Mrs. E. M. Car lon. Terry Ann is assisting as pi anist for the classes. Assisting the Rev. David St. George at services at Church of Our Savior in Summer Lake Sun day evening was Mr. Fisher, sem inary student from South Carolina, who will be in this area until the middle of August. Houseguests at the Van With ers ranch in Summer Lake over the holidays were Mr. and Mrs. George Campbell and their daugh ter, Sandra, of Roseville, Califor nia, and Mr. and Mrs. Rolf Foel ler of Elk Grove, California. Attend Pageant Mr. and Mrs. Les Elder of Summer Lake were houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Harris, Bend, July 3, and attended the Bend Water Pageant. Holiday Guests Mr. and Mrs Bud Currier had as guests at their Summer Lake ranch during the hol iday her brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. Harrington, of Benita, and her niece, Agnes Bond of Bend. Sunday night guests at the Currier home were Earl Carp and Hugh LaVille of Seattle. Grandson Visits Fred Hanson of Seattle is spending the summer with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Currier, in Summer Lake. To Richmond Harry Roder kirchen, who makes his home with his uncle, Alf Smith, of the Eastside District, recently visited relatives in Richmond, California. Visitors at the Eastside Dis trict home of Mrs. Eileene Barry recently were Mrs. Winnie Diolet to and son of Sacramento. The Dio letto boy plans on spending the summer months with relatives on the Westside. Farmers The Eastside Dis trict farmers are busy having, al though the damp weather caused the hay not to cure immediately, which slowed the work. Holiday Guests Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Crummet and family, East side District, are enjoying a visit from several relatives over the holidays. Crummet's brother, Mr. and Mrs. James Crummet and family of Homedale, Idaho, accom panied by their mother, Mrs. Art Mayes, Harper, Oregon, arrived July 1. Visitor Mrs. Thelma Puhl arid her sister, Mrs. Eva Mahan, Med- ford, were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hartlerode of the Eastside District. From Marcola Mr. and Mrs. Dick Kintzley and daughtei, Kathy, were recent guests at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Leavitt in the Eastside District Kintzley is Mrs. Leavitt's brother. With Grandparent! Nancy Richardson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Richardson, Gateway, Oregon, is spending several days with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Richardson Sr. in the Eastside District. From Illinois Mr. and Mrs Gale Nissely, Waukegan, Illinois, surprised Nissely s cousin, Mrs. Ben Vernon and family of the Eastside District on Friday when they arrived for a brief visit. Mr. and Mrs. Nissely are spending their vacation touring the West. Ill Alfred McGuffin. Eastside District, is able to be about again after being ill with the flu tor several weeks. Langell Valley Beverley Nus- baum. Donna Koehler, Jack and Jim Shaw, all of Philomath, spent several days in Langell Valley with Jack and Jim s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Haley Shaw, and brother, Johnnie. Mr. and Mrs. Shaw and their visitors left Sunday, and the Shaws will visit in North Bend for a few days.- To Kansas Mrs. James Bal- dock, Langell Valley, is spending several weeks in Kansas with her parents and other relatives and friends. Visitors at the Lee Davis home in Bonanza were Mrs. Da vis' brother-in-law and sister, Mr and Mrs. Harold Hanscom, and five children of Eagle Point, and Mrs. Davis' brother and sister-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lilly, and two children of Grass Valley. Vacation Margie and Burch Thomas. Bonanza, are spending two weeks at the Cave Junction home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Monroe. They accompanied their uncle and aunt. .Mr. and Mrs. Don ruiK, ana three daughters, who had been vis iting in Bonanza. Langell Valley and Klamath Falls. Langell Valley Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burnett and Maria spent July 4 at Medford with Mrs. Burnett's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Pi nelli. The Burnetts spent the week end at the Lake of the Woods. Holiday Visitors Mr. and Mrs Vernon Walker and family. Burns and Mr. and Mrs. Lyndon Walker and family. Grants Pass, were holiday visitors at the home of their father. Clarence Walker and other relatives in Langell Valley From Wisconsin Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dunlap and family, Wocus, have as their guests Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dnnlap and their son, Alan, of Pembine, Wisconsin. The two men are brothers and will be stay ing until Friday. Garden Club Bonanza-Lan cell Valley Garden Club will meet on Friday, July 11, at 2 p.m. at the home of Elizabeth Bell in Dairy. Roll call will be "What Plants You Have Propagated Crystal Cheyne will speak on plant propagation. Everyone is invited. Reunion of ex-students and teachers of the Junction City High School will be held Sunday, Au gust 3,' at the city park in Junc tion City. Oklahoma Picnic The annual Oklahoma picnic will be held Sun day, July 13. in caveman s Fane in Grants Pass. Entertainment will start at 11 a.m. both of whom graduated from Chiloquin Higl) School this year. They plan to enter college at Ash land this fall. Trip East Returning recently from a three weeks' trip to visit relatives in Missouri were Mr. and Mrs. Layton Hoback and son Ken neth of Chiloquin. San Francisco Mrs. Pearl Ny- gren, manager of the Indian Art and Gift Shop in Chiloquin, is va cationing in ban trancisco ana Palo Alto with a sister at the home of a niece. Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Har ry Martin and Mrs. Lydia Grate of Langell Valley attended the July 5 wedding of Susan Bretches and Lee Hobbs at the Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church. From Long Beach Mrs. Lulu Brown and her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Cook, all of Long Beach, are visiting in Langell Valley with Mrs. Brown's sons, Marvin (Bud) Brown and Claude Brown and their families. From Eureka Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jewett and family, Eureka, were recent guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gift of Lan gell Valley. Home Mrs. Mae Gale has re turned to Langell Valley after spending a few days in Medford where she visited with Mrs. Cora Ticknor, 87, former resident of Langell Valley, who is very ill in the Sacred- Heart Hospital. To Portland Mr. and Mrs Roy Gienger, Chiloquin, have re turned from a trip to Portland where they took Mrs. Gienger's mother, Mrs. Lanore Flury, to a medical clinic. They also visited with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Rufsvold, for mer Chiloquin residents. Vacation Candace and Lynda Freid, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Forest Freid, Chiloquin, have re turned from Roseburg where they spent over a week visiting an un cle and aunt. First Prize Robert Mitchell, 5-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mitchell, Chiloquin, won a lirst onze m the Klamath Falls chil dren's parade a week ago as he rode his decorated tricycle down Main Street. Myrna Kensler was able to go with them, as the had arrived home from Holy Names College in Oakland where she had been a freshman. San Francisco Mr. and Mrs. Bill Norval and son, JeffrV, Chil oquin, were in San Francisco this past week. Shortly before they left Mrs. Norval received word from her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. David Schneider, who left Chilo quin early in June, that they will be sent to Costa Rica by the Meth odist Mission Board. They will be in Evanston, Illinois, for several months taking advanced instruc tion at Nor.hwestern University and the Garret Bible institute. To Coast Mr. and Mrs. Jack Modi have recently returned to the Eastside District from the coast where they visited with Mr and Mrs. Clarence Downer of North Bend. Mrs. Downer is Mof fit's niece. They also were guests of Moffit's aunt, Mrs. Lee Wright, of Jacksonville. To North Carolina Mrs. Pearl Smith, Corvallis, and her daugh ter, Mrs. Bernice Moffitt, Lake view, left last week for North Car olina where they plan on spend ing the rest of the summer with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peterson. Mrs Peterson is the former Susan Mof fitt, Lakeview. Peterson is si a tioned with the Army in North Carolina. Haying Earl Cox of Lakeview has been helping with the haying at the Truman llartzog ranch in the Eastside Distnot. Reunion Mrs. Merle O'N'eil and children, Eastside District, ac companied by Mrs. O'Neil's moth er, Mrs. Pearl Maharry, Tulelake spent last week in Napa, Califor nia, where they attended the 52nd annual Rinehart reunion. Francis Bunyard, Mis. Maharry's son, was host to the clan reunion this year as he was president of the Rine hart association. Between seven and eight hundred descendants are members of the clan, although alt of them have never attended at one time. The group will hold their 1959 reunion in Seattle in June. JOB OPPORTUNITY! Moved Mrs. Julia Gienger, longtime resident of Chiloquin, and her foster son, Clark Bray, moved to Eugene July 2. Clark will be a senior in high school next year. The Gienger home in Chiloquin has been rented to Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Van der Kamp, who own and operate the Little Market. To Portland Mrs. Harry Ra- vizza and daughter, Sally, left July l to move to Portland. They sold their home to Mr. and Mrs. Les ter Hoback of Modoc Point, who moved to Chiloquin this weekend. Hoback bought the oil distributor ship which the late Harry Ravizza had for many years until his re cent death. Mike Ravizza is work ing at Crater Lake this summer before entering Stanford as a fresh man and Susan Ravizza is in nurses training in Portland.
