The couple was married in the
St. Marys Cathedral with a few
friends and relatives present and
the reception following was held at
Bergs Chalet. After a honeymoon
trip along the coast the couple
will be at home at 2533 N. W.

ground for the annual buffet lunch
eon sponsored by the Merrill Li
brary Club at the Merrill Recrea
tion Hall on Wednesday, June 4.
Almost 100 club members and
guests attended the afternoon
event.
Mrs. Robert Walker, luncheon

Anna Hartlerode and Mary Fran
Hammond.

Mrs. Claude G. Stotts, of Coos
Bay, state regent, announced her
official visit to Eulalosa Chapter

tan Hospital in Portland that fall
to start her training and gradu
ated in 1953 with Highest Award
of Honor from Good Samaritan.
She was appointed head' nurse in
surgery there in 1956 where she
plans to continue on with her work
at present.
The bridegroom has completed
four years in the Coast Guard and
three years of college. He plans
to enter Northwestern Law Schooi
this fall.
Mrs. Lucille Gray led group sing
ing "Happy Birthday" to Mrs. Ma
mie Giacomini who celebrated her
86th birthday on June 6.
An amusing style show featuring
the latest sack styles was pre
sented by 12 members of the Sun
flower Bluebird group. Mrs. Bar
bara Long, sponsor, was com
mentator for the show. The g'rls
modeled gowns in the new-look,
cleverly made from burlap sacks
by the group leader, Mrs. Virginia
Haskins, and her assistant, Mrs.
Dorothy Kandra.
Completing the program was a
humorous book review on "Dear
Abby" by Kathleen (Mrs. Robert
A.) Thompson, delivered in her
inimitable style. The program was
announced by Mrs. Bert Johnson,
president of the club.

Wednesday, June 11, in the Pine
Grove Room of the Willard Hotel.

A clever and brief outline of the
club's history was written and
read by Mrs. Vernon Neet.
Mrs. George Ashbaugh. retiring
president, received a token gift of

Pitcher was the honored guest at
a baby shower June 5 at The Pop
lars Ranch, home of Mrs. Bud
Parks. Mrs. Earl Lyman was co
hostess. Mrs. Lyman arranged games
played by the 22 guests. Each
guest listed her prediction as to
the baby's date of arrival, weight
and sex and suggested a name.
Prize winners for games at the
party were Mrs. Darrell Ferns,
LaPine; Mrs. Nick Klerk, Fort
Rock, and Mrs. Mark Ferns, La-
Pine, who will be the baby's great-
grandmother.
