OREGON PAGE 5 A BASIN BRIEFS Pancake Supper Midland Community Club will hold a pan cake supper Saturday, June 14. at the community hall in Midland. All the pancakes you can eat will be served train 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Prices are $1.25 for adults and ?5 cents for children under 12. Music and entertainment. A quilt will be awarded. Everyone welcome. Poiluek Dinner Midland Grange will hold a potluck dinner Sunday, June IS, at 1 p.m. at the Midland Grange Hall in honor of fathers and birthdays. The Home Economics Club will be in charge of the program. All grangers and families and friends are invited Smorgasbord The Merrill VFW Auxiliary will serve their annual June dinner on Saturday, June 14, at the Merrill Recreation Hall from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets for the smorgasbord style dinner are now on sale at Hodges Grocery or Merrill Pharmacy. Benefit Dance A dance will be held at the Merrill Moose Hall on Saturday, June 14, beginning at 9 p.m. PST. Music will be furn ished by Brightman's Moose Or chestra. The drum corps will also entertain. Proceeds will be used for purchasing supplies and uni forms for the newly formed drum corps and expenses for the state convention at Tillamook on July 87, 28 and 29. Postponed The regular meet ing of the Mt. Laki Garden Club has been postponed until June 23 This meeting will be a potluck picnic beginning at 11 a.m. at Moore Park. Home Mrs. Rosa Vieira and grandson, Jerry Vieira, and daugh ter, Mrs. Albert Beck, returned to their home in Dairy recently aft er spending several days in San Francisco at the home of Mrs. Vieira's son-in-law- and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stevens and family. From Hospital Mrs. Anna Hartzler is at her home in Hilde- brand after being in the Klamath Valley Hospital for medical care. She spent some time at the home of her daughter in Klamath Falls before returning to Hildebrand. To Salinas Mrs. Eva Phil pott and children, Don and Carol, of Dairy, and son, Ward, Portland, were recent visitors at the home of Mrs. Philpott's son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Able, Salinas. From Newbcrg Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Chandler and daughter, Susan, Newberg, were recent guests at the Dairy homes of Chandler's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boroughs, and aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Michael. From Portland Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Williams and family, Port land, were guests for the past week at the home of Mrs. Olive Fraley, Dairy. Vacation Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Angel and family have returned to their home in Dairy after a week's vacation in Portland. Recovering William Bell, who had major surgery a month ago, is convalescing at his home in Dairy. Moved Hank Holhauscr and his mother have moved from the Frank Tofell place near Dairy to the Metter ranch in Pine Flat. Missionaries Mr. and Mrs. Warren 0. Nowowiejski, missionar ies to Colombia, South America, will be guest speakers at the Bo nanza Church on Sunday, June 15, at 10 a.m.. The Nowowiejskis are visiting various churches of the Assemblies of God. The Rev. Bil lie Alsup extends a cordial invi tation to the public to hear the missionaries. Relatives in Bonanza for fu neral services for Mrs. Howard (Mary) Shelley of Langell Valley were her children, Mr. ana Airs Bill Minnick and family. Klamath Falls, are Mr. and Mrs. Kermil Keysor, Langell Val ley and Mr. and Mrs. Ishmael Dick, Bonanza. Martin was born June 8 and w e i g h e d six pounds. Great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. 0. S. Keysor of Poe Valley and Emmett Dick of Christopher, Illinois. To Red Bluff Visitors in Red Bluff for a few days where they visited with the Wes Hankins fam ily, were Mr. and Mrs. Howrey Roberts and three children of Lan gell Valley. They also visited Mrs. Roberts great aunt in Orland. of Montague for a week. Mrs. Fitzhogh is a sister of Goertz. and the couple had come to attend the graduation exercises at Yre ka High'School, when their niece, Gretchen Goertz, graduated last week. Vacation Mr. and Mrs. Ora G a r e y, Macdoel, left Monday morning for a two week trip to San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego. Twyla Johnson is stay ing with Judy, Lynn and Katy while their parents are away.. To Moses Lake Mr. and Mrs. William Kaylor, Henley, and Mrs. Wilfred Di$on, Macdoel, recently visited with Mr. and Mrs. Orville Dixon and family of Moses Lake, Washington. To San Diego Diana Dyer left last week from Macdoel by bus for San Diego to spend the summer with her mother. To Denver Jerry Kaylor re turned to his Air Force base at Denver.
