They're serious when they say that out of such discussion a: those of their four-day -semi-an nual meeting here may be found the shape of man's attempt to conquer space. ' Worn Bible Carried By Flier To Be Returned To Mother After 15 Years WACO, Tex. (AP)-A worn Bi ble that belonged to a Texas flier killed in action 15 years ago is on its way to his mother by a strange route that probably nev er will be explained. The mystery: who carried T.Sgt Bill J. Wheeler's Bible for six months before it was found by a German housewife? Car Arrest Figures Told Juvenile Officer Francis Math ews this week released statistics of traffic citations given juveniles in Klamath County during t h e month of May. He said that 36 citations were issued, 25 for moving, and 11 for non - moving, violations. Twenty four of the citations were issued by Oregon State Police, eight by Klamath Falls City Police, and four bv other agencies. The most eommon cause of ci tations was violation of the basic rule. Twelve citations were issued for this offense, Mathews said There were eight citations for im proper mufflers, four each for run nine stop signs and for reckless driving, and two each for having no operator's license and for en gaging in speed contests. Of the 36 citations, one was giv en to a driver under 15, four to drivers 15 years of age, 14 to 16-year-olds, and 17 to 17 - year olds. Mathews added that seven were reDeat violations. The juvenile officer said that onlv one driver was cited after an accident, which resulted only in orooerty damage, that to the amount of $295. :- Mathews said there were six li censes suspended, two of them only - partially, so that the drivers can ": drive to and from work. Court Plans Road Trip Members of the Klamath Coun ty Court will journey to Winne mucca, Nevada, Friday to confer on the proposed new east-west highway from Winnemucca to the coast. They will meet with Nevada State Highway and Humboldt County, California, officials, who are also interested in concerted action to get the route built. Before it can become a reality. three new stretches of paved road would have to be constructed. Largest would be a link com posed of 34 miles in eastern Ore gon and some 60 miles in western Nevada. Once built this would con nect Lakeview and Winnemucca. Klamath Falls, already con nected to Lakeview by Highway 66, would then be connected also to Winnemucca and important Highway 40. The other two links are a 17 mile stretch in western Klamath County and eastern Jackson Coun ty, and a 34 mile stretch in Jose phine and Curry counties. Nevada reportedly will build its share if Oregon willconstruct its. The proposed route would provide a near straight east - west road from the coast through Southern Oregon to Winnemucca. It is be lieved such a route would boost commerce and tourist trade measurably. The pocket Bible was found in ragged U.S. flight jacket in the garden of the suburban home of Mrs. Theodor Hillebrand at Dort mund, Germany, Aug. 12, 1943. An American bomber had just crashed nearby in flames. She kept the Bible, a violation of Nazi orders. Sgt. Wheeler's sig nature was inside the Bible. But Sgt.
