Photo by Betty Dow School Bids To Be Read WEED Bids for construction of a new Weed High School at Weed to cost $630,000 will be opened June 12 at 2:30 p.m. in the Sis kiyou Union High School District offices at Yreka. Howard Perrin, Klamath Falls, the district's architect has drawn the plans for the proposed high school to include a single story frame and brick veneer classroom building, a reinforced concrete gymnasium building, and a shop building with combined areas of 37,706 square feet. The site for the proposed new WHS is directly east of the pres ent American Legion football field and left of the roadway leading to the Apple Orchard picnic area Forest Service To Maintain Camps McCLOUD The McCIoud ranger district of the USFS has reacti vated both the Ash Creek and Pon dosa fire and timber stand im provement camps. I A skeleton crew is at each camp1 and about 100 men will be on duty June 16, Dave Scott, assistant rang er stated. About 19 men will be on fire duty and 32 on timber stand improvement. The remainder of the erew will consist of cooks, jun ior foresters and blister rust con trol personnel. Two McCIoud area USFS look outs were manned June 9. Lists of employes will be pre pared for Womer, the court said. CONSTRUCTION NEW PINE CREEK-Construc-lion started on the Mrs. Maida Pool ranch-type home last week on the old Gliddon home site. It is understood that an airplane run way will also be buiit as Mrs Pool runs at air-service and flying school at Ukiah, California. A Ukiah contractor, Swan Sjoberz, and his helpter, George Duwe, are doing the construction, which should take around five weeks.
