Malme, an Air Force employe at the installation engineer carpenter shop at King sley Field, was .recently presented with a $30 cash incentive award for devising a frame vise that enables untrained personnel to make square frames to exact specifications. Lt. Col. Raymond A. Thornton, base commander, in presenting the check, congratulated Malme on his outstanding performance of duties, which displayed great initiative and resourcefulness, ana wnicn will save the U.S. Air Force an estimated $600 annually in labor costs. The incentive award program was established as a means of providing recognition and awards to those individuals whose perfor mance of duty is such as to re flect credit upon their organization and the Air force. Silver Lake Mrs. Norman Frakes, upper grade teacher at the Silver Lake School for the past year has accepted a teaching job at Paradise school near tnier prise for the 1958-59 school year. Surgery Mrs. Ted Albert, Lan gell Valley, is in Klamath Valley Hospital recovering from major surgery performed Wednesday. On Leave Frank and Jere Ball sons of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ball Mount Shasta, are both home on leave from the armed forces. Frank, a lieutenant in the Marine Corps and a helicopter pilot, is sta tioned in Hawaii. He won a com mission before- his list birthday. Jere is an electronics expert sta tioned at McChord Field, Wash ington. Both are graduates of Mount Shasta High School. Visiting his Barents.
