A pearl-and-rhhjstone-trimmcd tiara held her fingartip veil, and she carried a white Bible topped with a small bottmiet of two cymbidium orchids bordered with stenhanotis florets and-ticd with long streamers of white satin and slephanotis. The Bible was a gift from the bride groom. Her only jewelry was a pair of small pearl earrings, bor- roweu l r o m the bridegroom s mother. 1 The traditional lucky penny was worn in one of her white satin shoes, Maid cf honor was Beiiy Lou(ie Williams l9 trimmed with handkerchief veils set with rhinestones. Vocal soloist, Stanley Kendall, was 'accompanied by organist, Su- ley High School in 1951 and has been employed at the First Na tional Bank of Portland, South Sixth Street Branch, since graduation. Flower girl, Janice Mecham, and Judy are daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Albert 'Mecham, Redding. Gregory Wood, nephew of the bridegroom,- and son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wood, Lakeview, served as ringbearer. Charles Wood served as best man for his brother-in-law; and ushers were Robert Bagett, cous in: and Wayne Wood. The maid of honor and brides maids wore identically styled frocks of flocked nylon chiffon made with square necklines, cap sleeves and trimmed with large medallions of Brussels lace ap plique. The very full skirts were ballerina length. Betty Lou wore light blue and carried a cascadd of petal-pink carnations. Jane and Donna's dresses were light pink and their flowers were light blue and pink For her wedding. Gloria chose two basket arrangements of white and blue slock with pink carna tions and lighted tapers in a pair of mu ti branched candelabra White and blue stock with pink carnations were also used with lighted candles in the organ arrangement. T he same color scheme was cm ployed for room and table decor at the reception in tne churcn par lors. Mrs. Albert Mecham, Gloria's aunt, was at the cake table; Mrs. Charles Wood, Tom's sister, served the bridegroom s cake: Ethel Shoup presided at the cof fee service: and Mrs. Bert Bagett was at the punch bowl. Winifred Gober was at the gift table, and Howena Ferrario carried the guest book. For the wedding and reception Mrs. Roberts wore a navy blue lace with pink and while acces sories, and her corsage was of pink rosebuds. Photos by Ferebee T Two Surprise Parties Fete Carrol Howes, Wed 25 Years --v.w..-f i 2nd LIEUTENANT THOMAS EUGENE HIGHLAND, USAF, and hit bride, the former Gloria Maxine Roberts, pose for their wedding picture after the evening cere mony in Mt. Lalii Church. She it the daughter of Mrs. LeRoy Roberts. Merrill Highway, and the late LeRoy Roberts. Lieut. Highland is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Highland, 1316 Wiard. Mr. and Mrs. Carrol J3. Howe were surprised honor guests on their recent 25th wedding anniver-i sary at a party that started when school . supervisors, elementary and secondary administrators ar rived at the Howe door laden wlh a beautifully decorated white and silver three tiered wedding cake, coffee and essentials to set a ta ble and appropriately decorate it for a Silver Anniversary party. They also brought two handsome silver trays which were presented to the Howes. Howe is Klamath County super intendent of schools, and has been connected with the school system since 1930 three years prior to his marriage to Mariorie Reeder, daughter of former Klamath Coun ty Judge Ulysses E. Reeder. She is also actively identified with ed ucationas a teacher at Ferguson School. They live on a ranch in the Pine Grove area, and they have one son, George, who is a sophomore at Henley High School The party plans were engineered hv H. C. Sharpe, principal of Fairhaven School, chairman, and his committee members, George Elliott, principal of Henley High School; and Stan Sevruk, princi pal of eno Elementary School. A floral centerpiece of white asters, silver leaves and the numerals "25" was an artistic expression of Ihe anniversary theme.
