The range is owned by J. C. Clark. Recently Moved Mr. and Mrs. Slater and family, Lakeview, have recently moved onto the Earl Cog burn property, Eastside, where they have set up a trailer house. Slater works at the mines. Flu Illness Alfred McGuffin. Eastside, has been ill recently with the flu. to assist at the Mc Guffin dairy until Alfred is recov ered is Claude Noble of Lakeview Santa Cruians Mr. and Mrs. Al Tickner, now of Santa Crui, Cal ifornia, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hervford of Cedarville, California, recently visited relatives and friends in tne Eastside district. Mrs. Tickner and Mrs. Heryford are sisters to A. R. Smith. The Tickners formerly lived in the Eastside area. Visit Canada Mr. and Mrs. John Giacomini, Merrill, accom panied by their son, Anthony Giac dmini, have returned home after a trip by car which took them to Victoria, "Vancouver and the inte rior of British Columbia. From Springfield Mr. and Mrs. George Price and small daughter, Kathryn, of Springfield. Oregon, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hunnicutt of Merrill. Price, a sport coordinator at Springfield, will receive his de gree in education at graduation exercises at the University of Oregon June 15. Shower Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Mulkey and son, Rickey, of New Pine Creek were the recipients of a shower at the grange hall Sat urday evening. The Mulkeys were victims of a fire which destroyed their home and personal property recently. The shower was hosted by the Willow Ranch Firettes, of which Mrs. Mulkey is a member. Sold The Baldur Stahlschmidt residence of New Pine Creek was recently sold to Carl V. Gilliland, Lakeview, according to Lee Cur- ion. Gilliland and his family will move into their new home soon. Recovering Howard Wells has returned to his home in New Pine Creek from the Lakeview Hospital where he was recovering from in juries he received when he was trampled by a young cow. Wells was able to attend church Sunday, and he thanked the congregation for flowers and cards he received while in the hospital. Willow Ranch Mr. and Mrs Kenneth Morris, Willow Ranch drove Mary Lou Thomas, who has been staying with them and at tending school, to her home in Ta- coma last week. The Morris' arc now preparing to move to Redding where Morris will work in a null To Redwoods Mr. and Mrs Lee Bernard, accompanied by Mr and Mrs. Leonard Markstrom, and their two children, Willow Ranch drove down the coast to spend the weekend in the California Red woods. They camped out' and tried their luck at coastal fishing. Elected Mrs. Amy Cloud, a member of the Eastside Grange, New Pine Creek, was elected assis tant lady steward in the recent Oregon State Grange election. New Pine Creek Mr. and Mrs William Ousley and family, Klam eth Falls, former residents of New Pine Creek and Lakeview, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hinton and- family of New Pine Creek. Bible School at the First Bap tist Church in New Pine Creek will start on June 9 and continue through. June 20. Dr. E. E. Hunt, Fresno, will assist Edler Swinney and the teachers with their work in the school. To Canyonvllle Mrs. Grant Longmore left Tuesday morning for Canyonvllle, Oregon, to be with her moiher after she had received word of the death of a brother, Ed Brown, at Lexington, Nebras ka. To San Diego Mrs. Bctly Dyer. San Diego, attended the eighth grade graduation exercises of the Macdoel School when ner oaugn ter, Mary Lou, was one of the graduates. Mary Lou and Beth have returned to San Diego with their mother. Visitor A. L. Wright. San Di ego. is a visitor in Macdoel at the home of his brother-in-law and sis ter. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Goode On Friday he attended the annual reunion at Medford for the old time firemen which is held every Memorial Day. Reno Trip Motoring to Reno over the nast weekend were .Mr. and Mrs. Bill Combs and family, Eastside. Mrs. Combs fulfilled a dental appointment here with an orthodontist. Housegucsts Guests at the Ben Vernon home, Eastside, this ween are the following relatives: Mrs Jav Bartholomew. Grcsham. Entertained Mr. and Mrs. Al fred McGuffin, Eastside, recently entertained relatives Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Dedecker, Yuba City, and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Huneckle. Stan ton, Illinois. The Huneckles he's a railroad engineer usually spend tneir summer vacation in the West. City Visitors Mrs. Eileene Barry and family of the M. P. J Barry ranch, Eastside, hosted Ei leene's brother and his wife, the Daniel O'Sheas, of San Francisco last weekend. The O'Sheas depart ed for Tulelake where they visited u snea s brother, John. Sheep Shearers John Arm strong and his son, Gilbert, of Tu lare, California, arrived in the Eastside district last week and be gan shearing smaller flocks of sheep. Church Potluck Mr. and Mrs. John Baxter and grandson Rex Scott, Eastside, drove to New Pine Creek Sunday and attended Com munity Baptist Church. A potluck was then held afterwards. Later, the Baxters visited Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Cogburn, New Pine Creek, where Mr. and Mrs. Will Vernon, Lakeview, were also guests. Motor Trip Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Crummet, Eastside, and son mo tored to Harper. Oregon, last weekend and visited Floyd's moth er. Mrs. Art Mayes, and other relatives in Ontario and Home dale, Idaho. The Crummets recent ly purchased the Cornett orchards from Elgin Cornett, former Lake County agent. Cornett moved to Bend with his family. Ashland Guests Visiting last Saturday at the Roche Allard Sr. home, Eastside, were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Richenbach of Ashland. A patio, outdoor dinner w served. Rami Sold Mr. and Mrs. Neal Elliott, Eastside, trucked several head of registered rams to a sale at Sacramento last weekend. Their son Robbie remained at the ranch in care of Mrs. Alice Wells. McElligott were visiting his broth er-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah O'Leary, in Summer Lake several days last week. In Ontario Mr. and Mrs. Har Maw, Summer Lake, are vacation ing for two weeks in Colorado with Mrs. Maw's mother and oth er relatives. In Onatrio Mr. and Mrs. Har vey Rell and family, Summer Lake, are spending two weeks in Ontario with Mrs. Rell's parents, while their daughter, Shewy, at tends Bible School. Rell is a state game commission employe at Sum mer Lake. Son Visits "Casey" Claggett ac companied his father, Boyd Clag gett, game refuge manager at Summer Lake, to Portland last week and remained to visit his uncle and aunt, the Jim Bakers, and his grandmother, Mrs. Mabel Claggett in Salem. Mr. and Mrs Baker brought him home Friday and spent the weekend with the Claggett family. Show Slides Mrs. Frank Graves showed colored slides taken during her recent trip to Hawaii at a recent meeting of t h e Summer Lake Grange. Home Martin "Buddy" Pernoll freshman at the University of Ore gon, spent the holiday weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs Bud Pernoll, at Summer Lake. He was accompanied by Holt Ganong, fraternity brother. Tea Given Mrs. Thomas God- man was guest of honor at a fare well tea. May 27, at the home of Mrs. Gabrielle Bryan, Paisley. She received an electric trypan from numberous friends. Her. husband, Tom Goodman, has been biology teacher at Paisley for the past two years. He has accepted a simi lar position in a New Mexico school for the coming year. Cruise Ends Duane A. Hav en, electronics technician third class, U.S. Navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin A. Haven, Lakeview, recently returned to San Diego aboard the destroyer U.S.b. Brink ley Bass, after a six-month cruise in the Western Pacific. While in the Far East, the Brinkley's crew assisted in rescuing the personnel of a Japanese fishing ship which ran aground on a reef. Overnight Visitor Mr. and Mrs Alfred McGuffin, Eastside, hosted Burnell Meckessel of Arbuckle, California, on a recent evening. Meckessel is a former schoolmate of the McGuffin children when the family lived in Arbuckle. Family Dinner The Wells ranch in Eastside held a family dinner May 25 and guests assisted Bill Wells Sr., and Jr., in branding and dehorning cattle. Following were present: Mr. and Mrs. Merle Dod son and family; Norma Dodson Mr. and Mrs. Glade Wells; Mr. and Mrs. Red McCormick; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Wells and fam ily; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wells Mrs. Alice Wells and Nancy; Glenn Wells and. Doris McClain. Hosts were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wells Sr., and son Bill. New Pine Creek Bernice Keller, Corte Madera, California, was Memorial Day weekend visitor of her mother, Mrs. Faye Keller Rose, New Fine Creek. returning to spend the summer months in Ashland. , Visit Relatives Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mclntyre and their four children left Chiloquin last week end to visit with relatives in Ida ho. They planned to take a trip, possibly as far as Yellowstone Park, before returning to Oregon. Graduates George Swanson, son of Leonard Swanson, former Chiloquin resident, was graduated, from Hillsboro High School last week and was announced as the winner of two scholarships, it has been reported by Mrs. Larl Hall, who attended the graduation ex ercises. He received a full tuition scholarship from Portland State College and a PTA scholarship which should be sufficient to cover books, transportation and inciden tals. George plans to commute to college since he is still needed at home to care for his semi- invalid father. , Grants Pass Janet Hall is vis iting in Grants Pass with Mary 0 Neill, former Chiloquin student. Mary was graduated Monday night Irom tne eighth grade. Son Born May 17 was the birthdate for a son born at the Chiloquin Medical Clinic to Mr. an Mrs. Eldon Cress. The 8 lb. 14 oz. infant was named Eldon James Jr. Represents Parents Mrs. Rich ard Harrington represented- the eighth grade parents at the recent Chiloquin program which honored eighth grade students. John Math- is, high school principal, was speak er, and the Rev. Cecil Dye gave the invocation and benediction, The Klamath Tribune's June issue featured a picture of the grad uates with the story of the event. South Dakota Mrs. Robert Doak left a week ago for Rapid City, South Dakota, on a month's vacation. She took with her her three oldest daughters, Jinny Lynn, uoDDie and Lawana, and a sev enth grade friend of Jinny's, Diane Haas. The baby, Robin, is re maining in " Chiloquin with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Doak. Trip East Mr. and Mrs. Gor don Kuist and children left Chil oquin r naay lor a inree weeK trip to visit with relatives in North Dakota before they enroll for summer school at the University of Oregon in Eugene. New Officers Officers chosen for the summer and fall months for the Chiloquin Methodist Y'outh Fellowship are Kenneth Hoback, president; Cathy Ilardman, vice president: Janet Hall, secretary: and Benny '.ygren. treasurer. Joe Jackson, their leader, reports that they are planning a varied sum mer program, including mountain climbing, swimming and picnics, as well as religious services. By Train Through a mixup. Mrs. Claude Parazoo and daughter Mary were left in Chiloquin when a truck and pickup left here for the new Parazoo home in Rapid City, South Dakota. The two took a train east and should have ar rived before Bruce and Duane Par azoo arrived with the truck and furniture. From Chico Floyd Blaser, Chico. California, is visiting in Langell Valley with his mother. Mrs. brace Blaser and his sister, Mrs. Charles Partridge and fam ily- Clean-up Day Thursday, June 12, will be clean-up day at Bo nanza Library. The Bonanza Wom en s Club will sponsor the work day and invite anyone interested to come and help. Please bring a sack lunch. Coffee will be furnished by the club. Home Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Brockway, Eugene, have returned home after visiting with their daughter, Mrs. Bob Schmor and family in Bonanza. Alturas. was guest of the Red Bluff IOOF Lodge at their 100th anniversary on Sat urday, May 31. Close was initiated into the Red. Bluff lodge 55 years ago. Yellowstone Park Leaving last weekend for a family trip were the Frank Hales of Chiloquin. They planned to visit both Yellowstone Park and the Grand Tetons before Visitors from Shelton, Washing ton, at the LeRoy Fuller home, Summer Lake, during the week end were Mrs. Fuller's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Auseth. They took their niece, Mary Fuller, back to Shelton with them for two weeks. Moved Mr. and Mrs. Alan Withers and family moved to Klamath Falls last week from Summer Lake where he has been ranching with his father, Van With ers.
