transportation school, Fort
Eustis, Virginia, and is pres
ently stationed, at Fort
Rucker, Alabama. His par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A.
Nicholas, are residents of
Weed. The bride-elect is a
I9S8 graduate of Butte Val

High School, Class of '52.
They will make their home in
Ashland for the present.

with a no-host farewell luncheon
Wednesday, May 21. in the
Willard Hotel Ponderosa Room by
some of the many friends she has
made during the almost three
years residence in Klamath Falls.

with Johns-Manville and he and his
family leave Klamath Falls to
make their home in Manville, New
Jersey.
Mrs. Gertrude Wright and Mrs.
Marguerite Barke made the party
arrangements and successfully
kept them a secret from 'Mrs.
Stokes. She was completely sur
prised when she entered the Pon
derosa Room and was greeted en
thusiastically by 60 friends. Their
names are all on the "autograph-
hound presented to her with an
overnight case.
Maureen Stokes was active in
school, church, club and other
community work 'and held offices
in both Sojourners and Newcomers
clubs. She, who came to a strange
town from the across the conti
nent, realized the value of a wel-come-to-newcomers
club and she
contributed much time and effort

other new residents.
