(AP) The United Slates continues its push fur underwater military suprem acy today with the launching of Rotary Club Fetes Two Yreka Students YREKA The two students hon ored by the Yreka Rotary Club for the month of May were Pat Swickard and Victor Grazier. Pat Swickard, who was awarded a trip to New York' this summer with the United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth as a result of her win ning speech on the United Nations, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Swickard of Yreka. She is a junior at Yreka High School. She plans to attend Chico State Col lege to prepare herself for a teaching career. She has been one of the honor roll students dur ing most of her school studies, and has been secretary of the Califor nia Scholarship Federation for two years. Vic Grazier is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Grazier, and. is a sophomore at Yreka High School. His future plans are to fol low out his interest in flying and he hopes 10 attend an air academy when he leaves high school. the world's fastest and deadliest submarine, the Skipjack. The 250-foot sharklike atomic craft is expected to outperform all existing submarines and set new standards (or the Navy's growing nuclear undersea fleet. She is named for a quick, sly, tough fish of the mackerel family. Her nonstop range is 60.00U miles. Adm. Arleigh Burke, chief of naval operations, will give the ad dress at the launching ceremo nies. The submarine will be chris tened by Mrs. George H. Mahon, wife of Rep. Mahon (D-Texl.
