A few handicaps have been ar ranged, howev er. Wild jack burros are being brought in from the desert by Fitzgerald Brothers of the Snyder Creek Ranch at Plush. It is planned that four of the wild critters will be turned into the run way in front of the grandstand, after a halter, 10-foot- rope and a number have been put on each one in the chute. To the number will be added three gentle burros, each carrying the number zero. The number tags will hang incon spicuously around the burros' necks. Starting judges Barry Taylor of Plush and Bill Green of Lakeview will check each team of men to make sure the right burro is be ing loaded. The packs will include noisy things like a water can. skil let and some lids, loosely assem bled and calculated to further an noy the animals. To qualify for winning money, a team must get the burro into the circle marked in the center field. Finish judges within the ring will be Marvin Butler, president of the Lakeview Roundup Association and Bob- Fitzgerald of Plush. "If the burro gets either his ears or his tail over the finish line it will count as being inside the circle," Barry stated. "We're warning all contestants that this will not be child's play. Those animals have never been off the desert nor are they broke to lead. We're figuring on organized confusion and for laughs from the crowd. When those tin paas in the packs start to rattle around, we'll probably have to corral some of those jacks as far away as Keno." Time and place for sign-up for this fun contest will be announced as soon as arrangements are com pleted, Barry added.
