Instead of saying "No," a eheclc . of Maj. Gen. Bernard A. Schrlev er's transcribed words showed to day, the general is quoted as re plying "Yes" when asked whether a living thing was shot into spac aboard an experimental missile. Schriever's original April 24 denial before the House Space Committe prompted an inquiry by r,ep. Bohn E. Moss (D-Calif) . when the Air Force finally co firmed that a mouse had been in the nose cone of the missile fired from Cape Canaveral, Fla. Moss told a newsman "I think the committee was in error" by allowing revision of Schriever's remarks. The California - congressman, Mead of the House Government Information subcommittee, said Schriever had not answered yet a two-week-old Moss lettv asking why the Pentagon told About the mouse if the matter wa secret, and why the information was with held for several days if it was not secret. It is common congressional practice to allow those who take part in hearings to edit their re marks as taken down by a stenographer. Boasting ana even tne Done f.j '3 St-.?
