In another of the Physical Edu cation Department's basketball clinics directed by Joo Peak, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders from all parts of the city were addressed by Pelican coach Don Mcgale prior to the demonstra tionA Megalc stressed the fact that in order for any youngster to become a member of a high school squad it was first necessary for him to get good grades and then to prac tice continually. A high point of the turnout was the drawing for brand new basket balls supplied through the courtesy of the Union Oil Co., represented by Ef Dittrich, resident manager and dealer. Bob Halvorsen. Happy winners were Doug Smith of Fairview, Chris Carter, Fre mont, Jack Hatfield, Mills and Billy Dahn from Roosevelt. Pelican athletic director, Jim Johnson served as emcee while coach Dean White assisted Me gale and the KU varsity cagcrs. Lalcevfew Ski Club Vies LAKEVIEW An excellent turn out was reported by the Fremont Highlanders Ski Club for the an nual club races held Sunday March 9, at the Warner ski hill. Participants and spectators added up to approximately 500 people. Perfect skiing conditions prevailed in addition to fine weather for the spectators.
