TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 1958 HERALD AND NEWS, KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON PAGE SEVEN Polio Vaccine Clinic Through tht afforts of Klamath County Council Parent Taacher Association, Salk poliomyelitis vaccina is soon to be available to all adults ovar 20 years of age who wish im munization against polio and have not received full protec tion. The age group from 20 to 21 must have written con sent of their parents or guardians. First and second shots are given one month apart. The booster is given seven to 12 months following the second shot. All three are needed for maximum protection. Forms are being sent home with children, from all the schools in Klamath County, for their parents to fill out. For the benefit of adulfs who have no children in school, the form below may be used. Pleese fill out the form below if you will be able to come to clinic in your area to receive vaccine at a charge of $1 per shot to cover the cost of the vaccine and supplies. Locations of the clinics will be published as soon as the survey forms are returned and evaluated. I hereby request to be vaccinated with poliomyelitis vaccine. Japanese food will be served to members and their hus bands at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. and will feature a film on Japan. Royal Neighbors of America will hold their regular meeting Wednesday, February 26, at 8 p.m. in the IOOF Hall. Officers are asked to wear formats. There will be entertainment and refresh ments. Thorn ton, son of Mrs. Foster Thornton, 1801 Worden Street, is one of 14 students in mechanical engineering at Oregon State College picked for membership in the engineering hon or society, Pi Tau Sigma. A 1050 graduate of Klamath Union High School, Thornton is a junior this year. Special Course Chester W Barnes, 2248 Orchard Street, and Thomas C. Barnes, 4430 Bisbee Street, recently completed a spe cial three day short course for sewage treatment plant operators at Oregon State College. Shangri-La Michael R. Havden, fire control technician 3.C., USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Hayden, 231 Division Street, is serving aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Shangri-La off the coast of California with the U.S. First Fleet in preparation for future deploy ment to the Far East. Far East Ronald T. Hardin, sea man, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Odie J. Hardin, Route 1, Box 580, and William R. -.Trusty Jr., sea man, USN. son of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Trusty, 305 Lincoln, visited Auckland, New Zealand, re cently while aboard the heavy cruiser USS Bremerton, en route to duty with the U.S. Seventh Fleet in the Far East. The Bremerton will be in the Western Pacific area for seven months. Friendly Circle The Friendly Circle will meet at the Congrega tional Church, 1154 Garden Ave nue, Thursday, February 27, at 10 a.m. There will b a noon pot luck. With Band Ron Sterland Klamath Falls, who plays the bass in the Western Washington Col lege's concert band, is on tour of Washington state this week with the band.
