County entries won five awards at wiU be a rummage sale Friday the annual Oregon Dairy Indus tries Conference here Wednesday although for the first time in re cent years the Cheddar cheese sweepstakes award went else where. It was won by John Ilacdingcr of Portland, who also took first place in the medium cheese divi sion. First place in aged cheddar went to Harold Sutton, Beaver. Wilfred Lommen, Mohler, was second, and Gordon Long, Cloverdale, third. Mert Louks, Cloverdale, won second place in medium aged, and Donley Lommen, Nehalem, was third. Harold Underhill, Portland, was elected president as the delegates ended their 47th annual three-day meeting. Other new officers are J. S. George. Tillamook, vice president; Orville Young, Oregon State Col lege, secretary; and Ellis Rack leff, Eugene, treasurer. Grover Hofstettcr, Salem, was elected as a new director. Other awards were made in various dairy production fields. Palmer Zottela, Grants Pass, took the sweepstakes trophy in ice cream making by winning second in chocolate and third in vanilla First place awards were won by Arvin Mikkelson, Eugene, van illa: Roy S. Schesselman, Port land, chocolate: and James Sweatt, Klamath Falls, strawberry. Myrtle Lee, Eugene, won second in vanilla. James Dunlop, also of Eugene, took second in straw berry. Third place honors went to Cecil Tucker. Klamath Falls, chocolate: and Herman Duncan, Medford, strawberry. Curtis Jensen, Eugene, won the butter sweepstakes award with first places in sweet cream and cultured cream butter. Le Roy Boland, Portland, was second in sweet cream. C. S. Kors mff, Clatskanie, finished third. Leonard Taylor, Portland, took the top cottage cheese award, with Neil Jenkins.
