Child Beater Draws Term LEBANON. Mo. '.T-Bert Black burn, 26. an illiterate Ozarks farmer, was sentenced yesterday 10 inree years in prison lor mis treating a 3'i-year-old son. Blackburn's common-law wife Velie Davis, 24, was sentenced to two years in prison the day before on a similar charge. Little David Lee Blackburn was so mauled and starved when he was brought to a Lebanon hospital by Blackburn's mother three weeks ago that doctors feared he would die. He had a fractured skull and bruises and abrasions all over his head, back and legs. One finger and one toe were missing. The top of another finger and part of his right ear were gone. He is improving but still isn't strong enough to sit up. Blackburn and Miss Davis ac cused each other of beating the Ixiy with a coal shovel and a stick of fire wood.
