Merrill Dimes Aid Figure Up MERRILL Jack Insley, chair man of the Klamath County March of Dimes drive, reports that the final tabulation of Merrill's March of Dimes campaign has netted over $400 toward the county polio pro gram. The Merrill Lions Club, directed by Robert Trotman, president, were sponsors of the local campaign. ed throughout Merrill business places realized $110.40. A "Join the March of Dimes" board Wjas placed in the Spud Cel lar and netted $68.70. This board was the only one completed in the Basin. , Proceeds from a ham dinner and tdance, given by the. Merrill Moose Lodge contributed $85.21 to t h e lund. Paul Tschirky was chairman . of the event. ! Efforts of the students of Merrill High School earned $36.05 from a cake raffle, $42.25 from a benefit basketball game, and $18.90 from the sale of armory dance tickets, totaling $97.20. Jim Chance, prin cipal, directed the school projects. ' Other March of Dimes activities ded another $41 to the total femount. Donations were also made by Merrill business firms and stores to t h e March of Dimes television auction held January 28 on KOTI TV. Spud donors were Klamath Po tato Distributors, Dale West, Bob Cheyte, Northwest Produce, Levy and Zentner, Sunny State Produce and Johnson and Blumenthal. Miscellaneous articles donated to the auction were given by Winema Mills, Spud Cellar, Walker Broth ers Goodyear,' Merrill Clothing Company,1 Merrill Pharmacy, El Rancho Tule, Chuek's Chevron Service and Merrill Lumber Slore 'he new addition to the church iome and Martin streets, is tanned for the near future. Catholic Daughter will have i silver tea and book review to- light at the Sacred Heart Parish There will be a guest speaker from he city library and a musical pro gram starting at o clock. The Concordia Choir of Moor- head, Minnesota will sing at the hlamath Lutheran Church Sunday.j February 16, starting at 8:15 p.m. Tickets for adults will be $1.25, students 75 cents and children un der 12 years 50 cents. Tickets are on sale at Currin's for Drugs and the Louis Mann Piano Company. They will also be available at the door. Artif actors Club will meet for election of officers and a 6:30 p.m. potluck dinner on February 17 in Joan's Kitchen at the fairgrounds. Ail members are urged to attend and to take a guest.
