OREGON PAGE THREE Weather Wet In January January in the Klamath Basin proved to be wetter and warmer than the same month a year ago according to figures from the USWB station on Link River. Total precipitation for January of 1958 was 2.59 inches as com pared to 1.6S inches for January of 1957 and a normal figure of 2.08. Total precipitation since October 1 to date 10.51 against a normal figure of 6.93. Mean monthly temperature for January of 1958 was 31.3 degrees compared to 25.1 a year ago and an all-records figure of 28.8 de grees. Highest recording for Jan uary 1958 was 44 degrees on Jan uary 2, 9, 17. Coolest day was January 7 with 10 degrees. There were three clear. 13 part ly cloudy, and lo cloudy days dur Vig the month. BASIN BRIEFS Dorrii The annual talent show sponsored by the Women's Federated Club ot Dorns will te held March 8 at 8 p.m. and en try blanks are available from Vir ginia Hamilton at the city hall and at the schools. Hilt and Yreka will par ticipate in a folk dance festival which is to take place on Satur day afternoon, February 22, at the Yreka High School. Ed Athey will be master of ceremonies for the festival which is open to the pub lic. Assisting with the arrange ments will be Mrs. Paul Dunham, Mrs. Earl House, Mrs. Philip Os borne and Mrs. John Phelps. New Map of Siskiyou County has been printed by the Yreka Chamber of Commerce. This may be obtained by contacting Harry Crebbin, secretary of the chamber, at the Yreka City Hall. Anyone wishing to have the maps mailed out of town should call Crebbin and give him the names and ad dresses. Two Basin Girls Join Air Force The Air Force announces the enlistment of two local Klamath Falls girls. Audrey L. Kiger, daushter ot Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth C. Kiser. and Shari E. Dehlin-i er, daughter of Karl F. Dehhn- ger. Miss Kiger and Miss Dehlinger enlisted at Portland on January 27 and were flown to Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas for basic training. Both are 1957 graduates of Henley High School and attended L a w t o n Dental School in Beverly Hills before en listing.
